This place has a LOT of potential to become a really hyped up place in cincinnati. a few things i thought were on POINT: the male staff that would hype up the crowd on the dance floor MADE MY NIGHT. he was literally the best. he made sure everyone was having a good time. he kept the place clean and collected empty cups. he danced with people! he was ALWAYS smiling, so friendly. protect him at all costs and maybe give him a raise. he loves his job so much. maybe give him some of those flashy light sticks you see bottle service girls with. (but also i want X10 of that guy. WAY more fun than bottle service girls) the drink menu was FUN. i got the drink that had beets in it. super unique! drink prices seemed fair. my personal opinion on a few things: the front of the bar is great, great atmosphere. the rugs were a little weird tho bc they just got bunched up everywhere. bar is cute. couches are cute. LOVE the lights on the ceiling. LOVE the clock on the back wall. the dance floor area kinda looks unfinished. i know this place recently opened but like maybe a cool epoxy floor design (with some non slip grit!) would be cool. also some lights in the ceiling would be cool (idk i was thinking like some funky color changing orbs or something, nothing bright, just something up there would be cool) the DJ Nest was a great idea. i love how they’re up above everyone, but play on it! want to see them have some fun and run the party. fog cannons, bubble blowers, streamers, light it up there a little more. make the DJ Nest a space accent, but not overly distracting. Also, themed DJ nights was be awesome. 90s night, emo night, halloween party, let’s do this. a few things i hope to see improve: while we were there, at least 10 glasses were dropped on the dance floor. this got really annoying really fast, and dangerous! a lot of people were wearing open toes shoes. as much as i HATE plastic, i’d rather not step on glass / have breaking glass keep hitting my feet. i wish there was more variety in the scenes that replay on the walls in the dance area, though the ones that did play were really cool. the bathroom situation was also at little confusing but i’m glad someone was there to help manage the chaos. the music was 7/10 there were some good beats and the DJ in the beginning of the night was really throwing down things to dance to, though as the night went on, it just ended up being the same popular songs you hear with the typical throw backs. i hope they can get some DJs in here to MIX, DROP, and SPIN for something unique. this place seems really unique and the music should match. OVERALL i do think think was a pretty fun place to go. i hope to see it grow and develop. cincinnati really needs better venues and better club vibes and this could be it. it’s at least headed in the...
Read moreThe main bar room is a good vibe and I’ve got generally very positive things to say about the bar overall but the “club” room is a let down. I took some out of towners here and they were wow’d on initial impressions of walking in but were pretty bummed when we left. There’s a lot of potential with the club room, so I’m writing this really hoping the owners could improve on it.
This is specific to the dance room:
the sound isn’t great. Subwoofers are needed in that room. It sounds like a house party, not a club.
The DJ’s music selection last night was BAD, like high school mixer / homecoming bad. They could be far more intentional with different genres and themes if they wanna cater to different crowds (would personally love anything that is remotely up to date with electronic music); but last night’s mix included seven nation army… and then a few early 00s pop rap—it just felt real dated, not specific, all over the place, and hard to dance to. There’s always a way to throw in old hits and throwbacks, but playing a KISS FM radio set list from 2008 ain’t it.
the choice to hire a half naked stage dancer just didn’t fit the vibe of the room. Not against it, but it needs to make sense with the rest of the room. It just felt really sad to have in the room when the vibes were off.
the dancing room is way too bright? It didn’t feel like a club.
Anyway, these are all improvable things so I hope it gets better. I wanted to have an awesome dancing night for some out of town friends and Alice was short of delivering that. Most other aspects of the bar are positive: overall decor, drink selection, multiple rooms, the outdoor area were...
Read moreI had an incredibly upsetting and disappointing experience at Alice tonight. Upon entering, I followed your policy and surrendered my pepper spray for safekeeping, trusting that it would be securely returned to me when I left. However, when I exited and asked for my pepper spray, I was told it wasn’t there after I watched the doorman hand what appeared to be my pepper spray to someone else as they were leaving.
When I asked about it, staff dismissed my concerns, said there was no purple one (the color of mine), and offered me someone else’s pepper spray. I felt incredibly uncomfortable being forced to take something that wasn’t mine not knowing the expiration date, how full it was, or even if it worked properly but I wasn’t left with a real choice.
This is unacceptable. Pepper spray is not a casual item, it’s a personal safety device that I trusted you to take care of. Thoughtlessly giving it away, and then trying to cover it up without accountability shows a serious disregard for guest safety and trust.
Not only did this make me feel unsafe and disrespected, but now I also have to spend my own money to replace something that your staff lost. I’m extremely upset that I’m left paying for your mistake on top of the stress this caused. As much as I love this bar, I don’t think I’ll be back for a while.
I hope you take this feedback seriously and implement better policies around handling personal safety items, because the way it’s being managed now is completely...
