MOTR Pub — Restaurant in Cincinnati

As a rock club MOTR Pub consistently brings both touring bands and local groups to their stage. Over the years I have had the pleasure of seeing many great bands. Honestly, it's one of the few clubs that I make a point to watch their calendar. This review will focus on the positive experience that I had recently while eating at MOTR before the show. I ordered my food at the bar and was given an electronic "coaster" that would light up when my order was done. It wasn't too busy, so I thought that a veggie burger and fries wouldn't take long. I waited and watched others pick up their food. After about a half hour or so, I spoke to the kitchen and asked if my order has been prepared. It appeared that there was a mix up, and my veggie burger and fries was accidentally sent out with a take out order. The man who was working in the kitchen politely apologized to me and said that he would make my order right away. Less than ten minutes later he brought me a double decker veggie burger and a HUGE pile of french fries, apologizing again for the mix up. The burger was so big that I couldn't finish it, it was great! Thank you MOTR for fixing the problem, then going above and beyond to make a customer happy. MOTR is my de facto favorite bar in Cincinnati. I rarely have a night out in OTR without stopping by, grabbing a 14k and listening to who happens to be gracing the stage. All concerts are free, and if you don’t love the band you can hang out in the basement,play some pinball and grab a drink at the basement bar, or you can head to the back patio if it’s warm.

I have always loved stumbling across amazing bands and performers at MOTR when I least expected to see them. Ages and Ages is one of my favorite bands and I discovered them blindly walking in on a Saturday night to them putting on an awesome show for the 25 or so of us there. Three years later when they came back into town I stood a foot from the stage and had one of the best concert experiences of my life.

MOTR also does food during the day/evening and has a pretty solid brunch too. The times I have gotten food I haven’t been disappointed.

Met a friend to have lunch. Got the pretzel bites. They were burnt. No salt. The beer cheese was extremely greasy. The bar/server wasn’t very friendly. Our food was ready in the window for a good 15 minutes before we got it. They weren’t busy at all so no excuses. Had to order at the bar. We then witnessed a lady come in (looked to be homeless) and ask for some water and the worker let her go to the drink station where she used her own water bottle from outside the restaurant and scooped up ice out of the ice bin. I was in complete shock. It was extremely unsanitary and disgusting. I got up and left immediately after I saw what happened.
