First of all, this hotel has two major arrival benefits for downtown Cincinnati: a place to pull in off of the busy street to check in and unload, and an easily accessible (and affordable) in/out garage.
Once inside the hotel, the condition of the lobby is updated and clean; and the front desk staff are incredibly friendly. Check-in and out were both easy, and I felt very welcome as a Spire Elite member. The staff was also kind and engaging with my young daughter on both check-in and check-out.
The hallways and our room were also very clean and updated. I was impressed by the use of space, and two adults and one child did not feel cramped in a two-queen room. The bathroom was clean, and the toiletries were nice.
We were located on the third floor, with the pool. The hall smelled of chlorine, so I was a bit nervous our room would as well; but it did not. It was great being on the floor with the pool, because that was part of the reason we chose this hotel: so our young daughter could swim on a cold winter day.
The pool was well-kept and the pool area was very clean and tidy (although the somewhat strong chemical smell suggests they err on the side of caution with ph levels). Although a compact space, it was a good size for my daughter to splash around. There is no hot tub or sauna. The water temperature was warm enough on a very cold day.
We ordered room service for breakfast, from the attached restaurant. The service was quick, extremely friendly, and well-priced. The food was very good -- especially the fruit bowl. I mention that only because a lot of times you get skimped on fruit bowls (e.g. only melon and grapes, etc). I was surprised by the freshness and diversity of fruit included. It says a lot about the attention they put into their food options, and the quality of their food.
Overall, my husband and I both agreed we would definitely stay at this location again. You cannot beat the convenience, amenities, and...
Read moreWe had an absolutely wonderful stay! From the moment we arrived, Cecelia made us feel so welcome—she was truly a joy to meet and check in with. We genuinely hope to see her again the next time we stay!
The location was perfect—just outside the busiest part of the city, which gave us a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere. But with the free streetcar right outside, we could explore the entire city with ease. There were also some great local dining options nearby.
The hotel itself is stunning. The design is beautiful and modern, and everything—from the rooms to the common spaces—was impeccably clean. We’ve stayed at many different hotel brands over the years, but IHG is the only one where we’ve had ann experience we’d describe as truly perfect. This location adds to the list of two hotels!
Ample parking was a huge plus—super affordable compared to typical downtown prices, and I felt completely safe whether parking in the main lot or the street-level spaces. It made things so convenient and stress-free.
The pool was warm and spotless, even in cold weather. The lobby was inviting and stylish—we really enjoyed relaxing there. I also appreciated the elevator security feature that required a room key to go up, which added a great sense of safety for me as a mom traveling alone with her kiddo!
The small shop downstairs had healthy snack options, which I loved. I liked the glass bottles to refill water at a clean spot by your room. It was very nice to have clean water that wasn’t extra.
The bar was another standout—the cocktails were delicious and super creative, and the bartenders were amazing. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, upbeat, and genuinely seemed to enjoy being there.
The gym was excellent, and the views from the pool area were beautiful. Truly, this hotel exceeded every expectation. I never walk away from a hotel stay thinking everything was perfect—but this one was. We can’t wait...
Read moreWe reserved 2 nights at this hotel. Upon arrival, there was construction going on in the lobby, however, besides the construction, the lobby was dirty. When we arrived and checked in, we were given a room that literally smelled like a locker room. We immediately went back down to the reception desk and informed them of the situation. The one gentleman at the desk went up to the room and confirmed it did smell bad. We then asked to be switched to a different room. He then went into the back room and came back out a few minutes later and told us they were sold out and there were no other rooms available. I then told him I understood they were sold out, however, has everyone checked in that had a reservation for that night and if not, could we have a room that had not yet been occupied. He then went to the back room and said that he could not. I then asked to speak to the manager (Jacob) who came out of the back room and I went through the same dialog with him. He then offered us a free breakfast. No thank you! He then offered to find us another hotel. The 2 options he came up with; one was in Kentucky and the other cost substantially more, which we told him that didn't work. He really didn't seem to care and it was more like he was going through the motions. I'm sure there was one vacant room in that hotel he could have moved us to, he just chose not to. Horrible customer service. There was also a girl at the reception desk who had major attitude. When I tried to call the Customer Service phone number for Holiday Inn, you can no longer verbally speak with anyone. All communication had to be via text. We spent well over an hour at the front desk trying to resolve this, with no resolution. We left and stayed at a beautiful hotel, which cost substantially less in a much nicer area. Holiday Inn has lost us as a member and we will no longer stay at...
