One of the men who worked there was extremely flirty, which we found disrespectful after several inappropriate comments. My husband and I didn't bring our children and we were told to explore freely at our own pace... Yet one gentleman kept following us around and interrupting our conversations to give us random details. We felt watched and after about 10min he just started giving us the tour which we felt obligated to accept. All in all a little pushy but it was a nice place. A great tribute to the police of our area, with a nice wall showing all of the fallen. It shows how law enforcement had operated for over a hundred years, which is fascinating to say the least. We learned a lot from our "tour". They also have Cincinnati's first police dog there...
Read moreI volunteer at the Greater Cincinnati Police Museum. It is my opinion that the legacy of the officers goes beyond the artifacts. It resides in the stories of their lives, their sacrifices, and their belief in making their community better through their service to others. This legacy can only be glimpsed by looking through their accomplishments and records and imagining yourself in their shoes at each part of their service. It can be through a Roll Call sheet as much as remembering a fallen officer; their successes as well as their not so successful days. I will include my thoughts as my thoughts. The best way to explore this history, is to go through our displays with one of our volunteers (or even several times with different ones). Ask about our history, our resources will surprise you.
