Low Spark — Restaurant in Cincinnati

My wife and I go to Low Spark somewhat frequently before we go out to dinner. We went there on July 24th and, in all fairness, the place was jammed and there was only one bartender on duty. I ordered 2 drinks for myself and 2 for my wife both of which were on the 4pm-7pm special list. Apparently the bourbon specified in my special was not available so the bartender substituted another bourbon and added an additional charge. Unfortunately she did not mention this to me the first or second time I ordered my drink. As we were leaving I went to the bar to pay my bill and only after looking at it and questioning the price did she inform me what she had done. My impression (but, of course it is only my impression) was that she was hoping I would not notice. She then offered to comp one drink (which I did not accept). She seemed to miss the entire point that she should have told me when I spoke with her 2x ordering drinks. We love Low Spark but this left a very bad taste...

We got into the bar late at night, and were pleased to see that the staff were still serving and honoring the hours listed on google (rare these days, many places quit early). The staff were exceptionally friendly and pleasant. They were very knowledgeable about their craft, and the kept a clean and sharp looking bar. The cocktails we sampled were carefully made and absolutely wonderful, and two beers we tried were also of exceptional character. Update 2: They have great house cocktails and mocktails. Always good music playing.

Update 1: They carry a few N-A beers, which is good for when I'm out but not drinking.

----- Initial Review ----- Friendly and fun - just like the best neighborhood bars, but it's also cozy, and classy. Good music. Nice aquarium.

A dozen drafts plus a solid cocktail, beer and wine selection. Great bartenders and fast service. Happy hour and daily specials are the best.
