We stopped for lunch on our way home from an event downtown. It was our first time visiting. The place is very cute and has A LOT of decorations by the way of live plants, pictures, and sports memorabilia. We sat in the brighter front room by the window. There were few folks in the place by the time we left at 1:10pm. Our server was very friendly and accommodating, but we wished he would have introduced himself (pet peeve of mine). We ordered the mussels and frites, the Poulet Basquaise, and a side of French green beans. The mussels were very traditional with a butter, white wine, garlic, celery, and onion prep, which is my favorite. I know fries are fries, but these were some of the best we have had in a long time. The Poulet (i.e. chicken dish) is like an open-faced chicken pot-pie with mushrooms, peas, bechamel, and puff pastry. It is true comfort food that we thought needed some acid or a touch of hot sauce. It is served with a huge bed of lettuce dressed in a balsamic vinaigrette and nothing else. The French green beans were tasty and garlicy, but were not true haricots verts. They were just green beans. Parking was easy because it was noon on a Weds., but I can see how it would be hard on the weekends.

We will have to try Luca again. I think we came on a bad night. The location is awesome. It's a five minute walk from the Playhouse, which is why we chose it. The outside is very nondescript, but the inside is really cool. There are lots of neat decorations to keep your eyes busy, and you can see pretty much the whole restaurant from your seat. The menu reminds me of a Paris cafe. They have simple fare, traditionally prepared. We got the steak au poive, the steak and fries, and the cod. The peppercorn sauce for the steak was delicious, but my steak came out raw. The cod was well prepared, if nothing exciting flavor wise. We also got a charcuterie board, which was a good value and nicely laid out. We didn't get cocktails, but the wine list was good. I think this place has great potential. Unfortunately, I think that they were ill-prepared for a pre-show dinner service and got flattened. To be fair, it was a Tuesday evening. However, maybe have a Playhouse calendar nearby when making the schedule. Had we not arrived very early for dinner, we would have been rushed. Kudos to Mia for getting us fed. Give it a try. I think that this place has potential.

Thoroughly enjoyed a date at Luca Bistro. The food was amazing, each of us did splurge a bit and got appetizers and desserts in addition to our meals. Not entirely sure of the name of each of the dishes, can't remember that bit. Although it is quite tight seating inside, my date did say it felt quite authentic as they have been to France before. Our waitress did her best, it was loud and quite busy so there was a bit of delay in checking back on us but it wasn't terrible and through no fault of her own. Though I did take off a star because she charges us not only for our table but also a different couple's table as well!! Now this should have been a bit of a laugh and an easy correctly but given this being the first time either of us have been there we simply paid and left (being overcharged by at least 58$). Luckily we noticed the additional charges before making it to our cars and returned for a refund. I totally understand that it was a simple mistake but I would've been very upset if we made it home before noticing the extra charges. (Parking is a nightmare with the one way streets and overcrowded street parking, just a heads up)

Unfortunately, I have only had the pleasure of dinning in here two times. This Place quickly became my favorite restaurant after just one visit. As I have not tried much on the menu, everything I have had has been incredible. I recommend starting with an order of their frites with a side of their homemade mayonnaise and harissa sauce while sipping on one of their amazing cocktails. now into the entrees. I personally have not had the steak and frites but everybody who gets it raves about it. My go to is the pan seared salmon. Perfectly seared salmon on bed of decadent mashed potatoes and a delish herb cream sauce that is unlike anything I have had. The chicken a la provencal is an amazing and rich chicken dish. Also served over mashed potatoes and an olive cream sauce ( don't let the olives scare you away if you aren't a huge fan! ). Lastly, the 84 burger. Such a simple burger with lettuce, tomato, gruyere cheese, harissa sauce. But the patty itself packs a TON of flavor. I think my jaw was on the floor after my first bite. This truly has been my favorite burger I have had in the city ( maybe ever in my life ). Of course, ending the night with their chocolate mousse is never a bad idea! I cannot rave about this place enough. The ambiance and service is always amazing. Their entire staff seems to be helping each other which is always great to see and...

I have been dining at least twice a month for the last 25 years at many many restaurants in Cincinnati and this was hands down the worst dining experience that I've ever had. It wasn't the food, a couple of the dishes were very good and the rest were okay, it was the service which was terrible. Our server, Cece, was difficult to to get to come to our table which by the way was very small. We had four people and it should have been a table for two, so with the small size, the dishes really needed to be cleaned off and they were just left to stack up on the table until the next Service came. The place is size limited inside so I guess that's why the small tables. In Edition, the bar was very small and so the alcohol selections were very limited. Near the end of the meal we needed to hunt down our server to ask for the bill at which point the server started arguing with him saying that she had had a bad day and walked away, making our day bad also. The manager had to step in and complete our bill and she did take care of this for the server. I know that no one from our table will ever return there and would recommend that other people...
