Young Buck Deli — Restaurant in Cincinnati

I have been waiting to try Young Buck Deli until my friend from Philadelphia came into town. It was worth the wait!!! We ordered take out and the sandwiches traveled well. I think because they were wrapped with care in butcher paper so that they were held together nicely and presented well when they were unveiled at home.

I had the Jive A$$ sandwich and the balance of that sandwich is sublime. The bread to filling ratio is perfect.. so often dry bread will overpower a sandwich. The meat was juicy and flavorful. It was as if I had an accomplished chef make my Thanksgiving turkey and then return to my house to make me a sandwich with the leftovers… after they made me fresh bread for said sandwich. However, it was the Chicken Parm sandwich that stole the show. To say chicken parm undersells this nuanced gem. Actual description is a chicken, truffle sausage cutlet that is breaded in the leftover focaccia crumbs… Even that description undersells it This sandwich smacks! You have to appreciate a place that pays attention to details such as cutting the cutlet on the diagonal so there is a good bread to sandwich ratio for every bite. Had the absolute pleasure of experiencing my first sandwich from Young Buck last weekend. My husband and I drove from Columbus to Cinci to try it out and it was totally worth it.

I chowed down on the Porchetta sandwich. The porchetta itself was so flavorful and the gorgonzola dulce schmear and salsa verde really elevated it. I am also a fan of crunchy pork rinds so it was fun finding them inside this sandwich as well.

My husband got the Boston Beef “Three Way”, as an homage to the city where we met, and he loved it. The roast beef as on point and he loved the touches of the bbq sauce and fried onions. Any New England native would be psyched to eat that sandwich.

Sandwiches aside, the shop itself has a great vibe and everyone working there was friendly (even when they were super busy). I really like that they have windows into the back kitchen area - loved watching Brian do his thing while we waited for our food.
