Saturday, 9/21/2024 - tried "Folsom Palace" fir the first time. Address is 5450 #E Sunrise Blvd, Citrus Heights, CA. I've seen this restaurant a few doors down from Nation's Giant burgers. So... we went to try them. Upon arrival...

Pros

  1. limited parking, but it's free parking.
  2. they have indoor and outdoor seating.
  3. The hostess is also the waiter. He's super nice and welcoming.
  4. the server checked in on us a few times. Talked very nicely and calm voice.
  5. The lady came and refilled our water cups. Water tasted great.
  6. food tasted great! Sichuan chicken was perfect! Sweet and sour pork was....meh. But not bad. A little on the dry, harder side. Crab meet cheese puffs were good. 1 side of rice cost $3.00, FYI.
  7. Restaurant looked clean; tables and chairs clean; utensils, plates, cups all looked clean.
  8. there's two bathrooms with one stall in each. It's for men and women.

Cons:

  1. they do not have a kids menu.
  2. a small side of rice for 1 person is $3.00.

Conclusion We liked this restaurant. Foods were good. Staffs nice. Restaurant looked cleaned. I didn't see a baby changing station in the bathroom I went to. But not sure if there's one in the other bathroom. We definitely will try...

Been searching for a good Chinese/Asian restaurant in the area for a while, and finally found one. Advertises as fusion themed, healthy ingredients (less oil, no MSG). Menu is a mix of Chinese, a bit of Korean and Thai dishes - diverse with lots of choices. Large portions and they do not use much oil - the spring roles were not greasy, nor were the other dishes we ordered. The pancakes for Moo Shu Pork were incredibly thin. Fried rice was perfectly done, and has a nice mix of vegetables. The other dishes we ordered were all great, nicely plated. The restaurant is small, and the kitchen takes up the back half and is separated by a glass partition, so you can see what’s going on. Good to see that it is all spotlessly clean. Very good service as well. You get a little plate of cold orange slices when you a done - a nice finishing touch. Enjoyable dinner, not overly...

It was my first visit. I had date with my husband. The food was amazing, but the service was so terrible. We got a table. Ordered 22oz beer. The waitress brought us beer which was 19.2 Oz in the can. We said we don't want it because it says in your menu 22oz. He got so mad. We ordered the different one. He brought to the table, but served it like he showed to our faces. Later, we got our food which was delicious and the other waitress brought it. Our waitress never came and ask how is our food, or if we need something else. After we were done with our meal, the first one came and said, " You need to leave because others waiting for the table ". My husband said, " we are still enjoying our dinner " on what he said, " I will call to the cops". For what? Enjoying our dinner? What kind of atmosphere do u have, when your customers brining you money? So...

Folsom palace is definitely one of the best Chinese restaurants in the entire greater Sacramento area. We got the BBQ pork buns, lo mien noodle, and Szechuan beef (pictured). They all tasted like homemade Chinese dishes, bursting with flavors from different regions of China. The dishes are huge and are meant to be shared with others so bring your appetite and 16 people. I was sad to discover that this place was not actually a palace, but it still looked nice inside. The staff were super friendly and were running around like crazy. They served us and the palace well. I didn’t realize they have three locations (palaces?), but this one was rated the highest. I’ll be back!

We love this location and am so glad to find a quality go-to Chinese restaurant. The dining room is beautifully decorated and it really adds to the ambience and creates an inviting and pleasant setting to enjoy dinner with family. The food is always consistently good here, from the fried rice and noodle dishes to the chicken, beef, and seafood entrees. Everything we've tried has been flavorful without being greasy or overly salty like other establishments. This is our defacto go-to Chinese restaurant in the area. We will be back soon.
