I firmly believe it is "the little things" we do for one another that can become the "big things" after all. This can't be more true than in today's world where negativity and shortness can become a habit that makes us all believe the world is no longer kind. Today's little thing started with me searching out to find a cute shirt I wanted to get from women's apparel by the brand Prologue. I purchased it in copper a few weeks ago and loved it. Since then I have been hoping/trying to find the same shirt in the chambray blue option. It was sold out online and pretty much everywhere in my size. I tried in one store today (Elk Grove/Laguna) and was helped by a nice gentleman who tracked down (1 left) in my size in the Citrus Heights store, which was about 30 minutes away. I called the store and immediately got Jenine, who was friendly, knew the shirt I described, and kindly said she didn't see any of those left. In today's world, it would have been "normal" to have had it left there. She obviously cared enough to "look again" and happily said, "Guess what I'm holding in an XS?" I was elated!! She then went on to say, "I'm not supposed to hold it, but if you can get here by 1:30 (when her shift was done) I will personally keep the shirt in my hands (while working), to make sure I got it! It may sound little and silly, but I was ecstatic and so appreciative of her extra kindness and willingness to help without me even asking her to do so. That's not just customer service, that's kindness and caring about making someone else's day and being a part of spreading some joy. Needless to say, I have the cute shirt in hand, and I"m so glad to have met Jenine in person and to have been able to thank her. I already spoke to (I believe) her manger (Lala), but wanted to be sure to recognize her efforts in the hopes that she will be thanked and appreciated. Thank you so much, Jenine!! This "little thing"...
Read moreI recently bought an air mattress from this store. Later in the evening I opened up the product and found an appalling situation. There was hair, candy wrappers, wood, and dirt on the mattress that had been folded up. That right there is a major health violation. I bought a product for $100+ that was "new" only be sold to me as "a one weekend camping excursion." Trying to sell off a product that goes against company policy as new that is actually disgustingly used is ILLEGAL. I went back to the store to talk to the manager as there is a no refund policy on air mattresses. This situation should be voided of those policies. What I got from the manager was a confrontation that I was lying about the situation and there is no way target would sell me a used product because it is against store policy. I took pictures of the product I purchased to provide evidence that they in fact got caught cutting corners on something that they should not be doing as a company. I told the manager to pull out the air mattress to look for himself. At that point he clammed up saying he was having a bad day and would allow us to go get a new product. Everything was civil yet they made security watch us through this whole process and made security open a new product to come off as intimidation. Next time you get caught doing something illegal, don't play it off as the customer is trying to cause a scene in your store. Poorly managed situation with intimidation tactics that should never have occurred...
Read moreThe service today was soul crushing. Was shopping and products are good, even a man in the cleaning section had asked if I needed help and I was afraid I responded too loud with saying I was doing just fine browsing. Which I was browsing on my day off in my gym clothes before going to the gym. It’s my day off and I am going to get a few items and shop at target before going to the gym, getting a massage and going home. It sounded like a good day to me. So here I am browsing at toys for my son… trying to figure out what to get him, and there’s a worker, short black hair every time he passes down the aisle I am on (I am the only one in this section besides a group of male workers and the only one in this aisle) every time he walks by he snickers and shakes his head. I felt so uncomfortable I go down to the next aisle and same thing. I didn’t even pick a toy for my kid, I walked over to the summer section and then the whole group working in toys laughs and says maybe it’s maybeline. I am shopping alone in Target, I am not wearing makeup, I have my nails done, in my gym clothes, and was the only woman in this section in a group of men working stocking toys, I never approached these men and was staying out of their way. Women have a hard enough time without needing workers snickering and making comments, which is literally what happened here. I won’t be coming back and encourage any woman in general to shop where you feel...
