First time at this Olive Garden location which is conveniently close to our home. We arrived here at 8:44 pm on a Saturday night and waited for booth seating. We were seated at 9:02 pm. If I had known that their booth was disappointingly not any cozier than typical seating, we would have just agreed to a table or the bar and cut that wait time to under 5 minutes. Our server briefly introduced herself after 5 minutes (at which time we were already ready to order since we browsed through the menu prior to being seated) but didn't come back to take our orders until 15 minutes or so later. How's that for an impression? When she did finally come to take our orders, you could feel how guilty and apologetic she was about making us wait; she expressly pointed that out. Oh well and moving on.. I tried their Linguine di Mare which did not live up to my gourmet expectations. It had a small handful of average-sized shrimps and eight mussels that were no bigger than 1 cm each; make that 7 mussels since one shell was empty, neither of which tasted fresh. What this dish was plentiful of was garlic.. So overpowering lots and lots of whole cloves of garlic that were not even roasted all the way (as you can see on my exhibit photo). I am not likely to try this again at any Olive Garden location. Otherwise, the mai tai and unending bread sticks & zuppa toscana did not disappoint.

It had been years since I'd been to Olive Garden and many more years since I'd been to this location. Since it'd been a while, I wanted to try something new. After some very tasty salad (that needed more dressing), the Chicken & Shrimp Carbonara appeared. They did not disappoint with the amount of shrimp & chicken. The sauce was creamy; flavored with roasted peppers and bacon crumbs. The only thing it was missing was roasted garlic! That would have made the dish perfection. 😘🤌 There are two sides to this restaurant, I've always thought families should be seated on one side and singles, couples should be on the other side. This would be a personal preference, if the bar wasn't so small, I would've sat there. (Again, just my preference) Everything else you want in American Style Italian food, it was there. Would I have enjoyed the meal a bit more if there was roasted garlic, absolutely. Please keep that in mind if you're a garlic lover and enjoy your dinner! 😊 [Please note: picture from olive garden website, my dinner was nearly identical.]

well we are stuffed--again! we finally saved a little room for dessert. first time at this location. friendly, efficient wait staff at the bar area. food was super good and plentiful. i think we have lunch and another dinner left over for tomorrow. giant meatball with 3-cheese stuffed manicotti for me, braised beef in Bolognese for hubby. as good as mine was (and it was really good), hubby's plate takes the win for its unusual, interesting, delicious flavor and surprising tenderness. for dessert we had the cannoli trio. the filling was pretty good. the cannoli itself reminded me of a somewhat stale Hostess fruit pie crust, but maybe that's what they're supposed to be like--this was my first. I forgot to take pictures of the entrees but they looked just like the photos on the menu. this location was very clean and had no odors.

Had to edit my review. I usually love this place. But we had the most terrible meal and the most terrible service ever the other night. We went there for anniversary dinner sat at the bar.Nobody acknowledged us for at least ten minutes or more. Bartender walked by us several times and never made eye contact.Never said I'll be right with you.Never offered us a drink. I finally had to walk over and grab some menus so we could look at them. After a long time, he came over and asked us if he wanted to cocktail, and we said yes. We also said can you please order us an appetizer? It was the stuffed zity. A long time went by nobody took our order. Finally, I flagged him down, and my husband ordered the tour of Italy. And I ordered the shrimp carbonara , but I specifically asked for angel hair pasta instead of regular spaghetti. A long while went by, they delivered our salad and soup. But they didn't give us any utensils to eat with. Again?I had to walk over and find utensils and bring them over for us. My husband did not have enough dressing for his salad. And we kept trying to get someone's attention so he could get more dressing. So you can enjoy a salad but we had no luck. Finally the bartender stopped by and said our dinner should be out soon and I said well is there any way we could get our appetizer reordered a while back? He said oh yeah it's probably Ready and of course it was cold. When our dinner got here, the pasta on my husband's Alfredo.Wasn't cooked it was crunchy still and my plate did not have angel hair apostor it had regular spaghetti noodles. I asked the bartender.Hey, is this the angel hair pasta and without looking he just said Yes it is". . So a while went by and I was getting irritated because I didn't like to spaghetti noodles and I didn't want to eat them.My husband was not enjoying his food either. So I decided to define somebody that would help us out. A lot of people walk by us but nobody would acknowledge until finally.I was kind of set out loud.I need to talk to a manager. This is ridiculous. Finally a manager came out and she was probably the only saving grace in this whole restaurant. She listened very attentively with very empathetic combed both of our meals that is part of the only reason I might go back. Her name was katie. She probably is the only one that's properly trained in customer service in that whole restaurant. I have. Worked customer service for years and we were always taught to check back to make sure people had everything they needed, acknowledged people right away even if your busy so that they know that you saw them and you're not getting ignored. We were the only 2 people sitting at the bar.It did not seem too busy. The bartender seemed frazzled and unable to keep up with the drinks coming from the restaurbut.Even though you never had to worry about the bar because there was nobody there except us. For a front of the house employee and a first impression of the restaurant, he definitely needs some polishing. Whoever the general manager is, there definitely needs to retrain a lot of those people and customer service. The price to eat out no is so high and there's lots of competion We wish we would have gone to spaghetti factory where the foods always consistent and the service is always good. This is the only bad experience.I've had at this particular hall of garden though, but it was just so bad my husband said we will never go back. The manager on the floor or supervisor Katie. She's a keeper. And can tell she's been trained the right way. She's a keeper. If we go back and we have a good experience, I will definitely edit my review. If the manager wants some training and customer service, he can always message me . I was a corporate trainer for years. And customer service was our number one most important training lesson. If we did not answer the phone correctly Up cell suggestive cell check back.We had a motto. 2 mins 2 sips 2 bites, then you check back. Nothing ruins a meal more than just waiting for something so you can eat what...

Olive Garden must be slipping in their quality & ambiance. I love Italian food. The olive garden restaurant wher me & my 2 sister's had lunch lacked ambiance, quality service & the food was too bland. When I dine out its my expectation to first receive quality service. The waiter had to be reminded twice on certain items he forgot to bring back to our table. The seating area we were seated in lacked charm & ambiance. Felt like a cafe atmosphere. What a bummer. I ordered scampi shrimp with tomatoes asparagus & angelhair pasta. Pasta was dry. There were 5 shrimp, each size of a nickel. Don't know how they can justify that to be scampi. Truly was shrimp size. The dish lacked garlic herb olive oil seasoning. I entertain a lot & seasoning is important. Why use iceberg lettuce in salad when it has no flavor. Plus the salad only had sliced tomatoes & onions. Where's the rest of ingredients that's known to be in Italian salad.

OMG, I can't believe I paid $3.79 for a glass of ice tea. I should have ordered a cocktail as the price would have been more acceptable for beverage. I'm not a cheap person, but I do expect quality.

Well, I still love Italian food, but don't believe I'll frequent the olive garden restaurant in Citrus Heights. I'll most likely find another Italian restaurant with ambiance, great Italian food & quality service. No one should have to remind their server what to bring back to the table of paying customers. Place wasn't busy or packed with customers as we were there between 230pm-4pm.

They would have received a tip if none of the above issues had not occurred. Therefore, olive garden, in my opinion, ranked a mere "2." Suggest train staff, upgrade ambiance & improve...

After placing our order, I received my salad, however my boyfriend and I were informed by Stacy that breadsticks are non existent and she could not bring out his soup because "there were no clean bowls to be had". Next the soup and breadsticks didn't arrive for either five minutes.....

Moving forward, my boyfriend requested a second serving of soup. Instead, about ten minutes later, our main entrees arrived courtesy of a different server who again reiterated after two requests of our mail server that breadsticks were still unavailable....After a few minutes or main server inquires the quality of our main mall making no mention of my boyfriend's soup previously requested for.... Moving forward, we both requested a second serving of pasta Alfredo with chicken and breadsticks that never arrived. When out refills arrived, both were served with cold pasta, we immediately got the attention of a random server, and sent it back.... The replaced were delicious.... Our meal was concluded with no offer or presumed opportunity to enjoy a desert as our server simply approached the table handed us two to go containers and dismissed herself.... Is this indicative of normal dinner service inefficiency because we observed other diners experiencing similar frustrations? A reply would be greatly appreciative from staff as it takes 5 to 30 seconds to loose a customer and 3 to 6 months to get them back. Further the average diner having a pleasant dining experience may be inclined to tell a few close friends. Conversely, a dissatisfied customer is inclined to inform everybody and with the resource of social media it is almost...
