I ordered takeout here for the first time and chose the Midori Ramen and a Kids Ramen (added $2 to include a seasoned egg) through Toast. My son enjoyed the kids ramen but was just a little disappointed that it didn't come with Naruto. I really enjoyed the Midori Ramen. I was already interested by the name (I believe Midori can mean "green" in Japanese) and the broth is indeed green with basil and pesto, which I've never had in a ramen broth before and had to try. Everything was pretty much delicious for about $16 for the Midori Ramen. The quality is great. The broth tasted rich and flavorful and the noodles were filling. The chasu seemed a bit more on the fatty side (just the way I like it) but it was thick and juicy. My only complaint about it is that there were few portions of the chasu yet it was sooo good. The egg was sliced in half and a little bit soft boiled (I wish it was more soft boiled) but I guess it's a good balance for those who might not like their yolk to be too runny. I only give it 4 stars because of the bean sprouts. I just don't think watery, crunchy sprouts pair well with this ramen so since I ordered takeout, I chopped up some woodear mushrooms and tossed them in and the ramen tasted so much better. The parking lot was tight/small/cramped and I was lucky to find a spot to park but thankfully, my experience with the restaurant's service was quick. My order was already ready by the time I arrived at the restaurant, before the ETA given. The staff was friendly; they greeted me and asked for the name of the order and verified the order with me before handing it over. I don't live in this area and it's about a 30 minute drive from my home so I probably won't frequent this ramen shop but I had a lovely takeout experience so I might consider heading back here...
Read moreThe ramen here is top notch. Incredible broth, good toppings, excellent cash. That black garlic oil is incredible. Please try it. We also really enjoyed the small plates (gyoza and karage). Gyoza was perfectly steamed and crunchy on the bottom with a gentle savory flavor. The texture on it was perfect. The karage was simple, but the meat was tender inside, crispy outside and with the squeeze of lemon, perfectly balanced. The service was really prompt and responsive but not overwhelmingly friendly; it felt more detached and professional. It was more of a neutral experience than a bad one. They also brought us our mains before our small plates. None of that took away from our enjoyment of the meal but it's an area of improvement if the restaurant choses to address it.
I also regretted ordering the meze "ramen". I was interested in trying something new but I should have gone a different direction because what was advertised as "brothless ramen" ended up basically being a salad with ramen noodles. Which wasn't bad, just weird. It was like, they started to make ramen, but when the time to add the broth came, they added 2 cups of salad greens instead, then continued with the typical ramen toppings. Nothing tasted bad per say, it just wasn't at all what I expected or wanted. Everything was still flavorful and well prepared. And now I know not to order that again. And you shouldn't either unless you're in the mood for a ramen salad.
Overall, I still highly recommend you go here and dont skip out on the broth, it's really one of...
Read moreMy entire experience at this place was extremely disappointing. The quality seating is very limited, so we were forced to sit at the bar. The stools were uncomfortable, but what made it unbearable was the honeycomb tint they had on their windows. It hurts the eyes after just a few minutes, and there is nowhere else to look.
I ordered the tantan ramen. This was a mistake. The sesame sauce they use in the broth was quite unbearable. My girlfriend ordered a spicy miso ramen, which was much better, and the only reason I am giving a second star to this location.
The most infuriating part was when an employee pulls into arguably the best parking spot right in front of the restaurant, designated for clean air vehicles only. He backs into it with a "souped up" and extremely loud and ugly hatchback, spoiler on top, and then walks in to his shift like its something he does every day. Of course, maskless. He was just a child, and he's allowed to park in a "clean air vehicle" parking spot that should be for patrons, NOT employees. Particularly ones who have a show car that is in no way a clean air vehicle.
I was so excited to try their ramen as its close by, and I was looking for reasons to like my experience here. It just proved too...
