After anticipation for this location to open (took FOREVER), I attempted to place an online order for pickup today. Site wasn’t user friendly and after two tries, gave up and drove over. Two impressions upon entering; three quarters of the tables were full with maybe a quarter of them actually eating and…where is the new Franchisee? Three sandwich makers and a nice young woman at the register. I politely asked if there was an order for Jim and she, politely, said no. I placed my order with her (Hook & Ladder, Prime Rib; both with pickles). That was at 12:57. My order was ready at exactly 1:27. The crowded dining room was now completely empty with the exception of another customer waiting for his to-go order. I took the bag from the young man behind the counter and noticed the oily hand marks on the same bag.
I mentioned the Franchisee in that whenever a new business opens, that “owner” usually LIVES there. For obvious reasons, you want YOUR imprint on your location. That includes quality and service, just to name two. My wife says I’m too critical. I disagree. When you run a business like this, and you have a level of expectation to be met, there’s no room for failure. I wish the “owner”well. I’ll be back; I’m a believer in giving second chances.
Final observations; the sandwiches looked like they were “assembled” by a ten year old and,...
Read moreI ordered a ham, salami and pepperoni sandwich on wheat bread, but it came on white. I asked for sliced jalapeños, they there were none. And I don’t think I’m a fan of the brand of mayonnaise they use but other than that the sandwich was OK. (I also don’t recommend the sliced pickles.)
Also the entire time I was ordering, I felt like I was being rushed they weren’t even that busy. Not to mention the guy behind the counter didn’t even ask me if I wanted a combo or not, he just charged me for a sandwich. Then when I stated that I wanted the combo, he didn’t ask me what size drink, he just gave me a large.
I don’t know maybe it was that I just had a bad experience at this location. I might try firehouse again, but I still think that Mr. Pickles is way better. From the food, to the service, to...
Read moreWorkers and restaurant was fine and clean. The food was not good. Figured I would come here on a whim and try their special BBQ Cuban. The picture looked like it was loaded with pulled pork on top of a few thin slices of ham. I spent nearly 20 dollars on a ham sandwich that wasn't much bigger than the small sandwich that was ordered. There was no pulled pork that I could see. Like at all. Sandwich didn't even look remotely close to how it does in their huge picture displayed online and inside. Just a gross, sloppy sandwich with hardly any contents inside. Didn't have it in me to make a fuss because it's super awkward as a customer- and the manager was right there watching the girls make the sandwiches. Added a picture for comparison. Does that look anything like the...
