5 stars because 1 rude employee should never dictate a review! The wife and I decided that a last second staycation was in order July 4th weekend. After checking in at our hotel, Tiffany's was our first stop. As a supervisor for one of their food providers I speak first hand on their tip notch kitchen cleanliness! We were warmly greeted on the deck. Even though they were on a wait, we were able to get the first table near the door at the bar without a wait! The bartender made immediate eye contact and welcomed us. She was very busy but still said hello and came by quickly. The drinks were great and the food was as well. The service was top notch and timely even with a full restaurant. Back to the opening statement though. Our table rocked back and forth. Unfortunately this rocking caused a nearly empty glass to topple and shatter on the floor. As a guest this can be embarrassing. There was a different employee near by when this happened. She essentially shamed us and brought extra attention to the situation. I attempted to fold some napkins to steady the table and was yelled at because, "We don't use napkins for that here!" I hadn't realized the misplaced wedge on the floor. During clean up she loudly noted the situation to nearly a dozen parties coming and going. She went as far as telling people to, "be careful, THEY broke a glass!" Shame considering how amazing everyone else was. Once it was cleaned up, my wife I noted that she was drinking a Labatt while counting out her bank. Regardless, the food was amazing and the service was A1 from everyone except her! We will be back for sure, but she will never serve us. Given my 20 years in restaurants prior to supervising food delivery, I tip 30-50% because I know what servers deal with everyday. Her loss. Back to the positive. Tiffany's has a long history of great food and service. Talking with locals it's been noted that they serve the tourist and regulars like family! We will be back and look forward to our next...
Read moreCame on Labor Day weekend. We expected and understood a long wait to get in. The wait to get a table was well over an hour. Fortunately we ordered appetizers, because that’s all we ever got. The Feta dip was delicious and the fried green beans weren’t bad either. During a shift change a lady introduced herself as taking over our table. We made her aware that we had been waiting over an hour plus for our meal and if we don’t have it in about 5 minutes we were leaving and paying for our drinks and apps. She blamed the holiday weekend and basically told us to deal with it, it’s to be expected. Waiting for a table over an hour is acceptable for a holiday weekend in a tourist town but not another hour and a half for food. She said she’d go check on it though. She came back to our area to bring drinks to the table next to us, then turned and walked away and never said a word to us. So we went up to the bar to pay for our drinks and apps. She took over for the cashier/server and proceeded to say she was the manager (named Jessica) and she would take care of ringing us up but the whole time she made excuses “I’m doing the best I can, I only have 2 hands, I just got here from the shift change, it’s Frankenmuth on a holiday weekend, that’s what you get” WHAT?? That’s not how a manager handles a hungry, upset customer. You can apologize and try to make it right somehow. Or encourage us to wait because maybe our food was in the window, anything but make the customer feel like they have ridiculous expectations for waiting over 2.5 hours for a basic meal of sandwiches and fries. I would not...
Read moreIn terms of the only pro our actual waitress was polite. The rest of the experience was terrible. We called 4-5 days in advance asking if we could make a reservation and we were told no we couldn't. We explained that we were bringing my father-in-law who is in his 80s and who had a bad stroke last year and that getting seated quickly would be helpful. First come, first served they don't take reservations, no exceptions. OK got it. We arrived at 1:30 PM and were told it would be a 45 minute standing room only wait. We decided to stay thinking (incorrectly) that by the time we went to another restaurant it would be close to that 45 minute mark. It turned out to be a standing room only wait for 95 minutes not 45 minutes. When we got seated, and my poor father-in-law was clearly exhausted, we ordered immediately. It still took them another 40 minutes to bring out the food. We arrived at 1:30 PM and received our food at 3:45 PM not exactly what we had planned for on this visit. The burgers were undercooked and disgusting. The fries were cold, gross, and soggy. But at 3:45 PM we were starving so we ate it. Why in the world would people come here for this type of experience? Next time we'll just pay for the $30 chicken dinner down the road where we can at least make a reservation and get seated quickly. We won't be...
