I had ordered a King comforter; however, upon receipt, I had noticed that it was up to 5" smaller in one direction and about 3" smaller in the other direction than the specified dimension on the website. I had measured the drape based off the website dimensions and ordered based off of that, so this smaller size resulted in a very ill fit on my mattress. I contacted the company, and it started off pleasant. I was offered half off to keep the "incorrect size," as they stated, or ship a replacement. The tune changed once I expressed I would prefer a size that fit the bed since I purchased based off dimensions specified. A day later, I was told that it would probably be the same measurement if i stretched it out; however, for $400, I would fully expect the size specified on the website to be the finished size, not the size when stretched onto a tying frame for manufacturing. I was also expected at this point to pay to return it, which was very off-putting considering I was offered half off to keep it a day before. I also provided suggestion to include actual finish measurements on the website, not the measurement when it is stretched onto a tying frame, but felt dismissed since the owner's only response to that suggestion was that they sold 4,000 comforters since 2018 and no one has ever suggested that. I would not recommend this company to anyone. The measurements they specify are clearly misleading, do not appear to respond well to constructive feedback, and I felt extremely uncomfortable with the unprofessional and blatant backpedaling with this experience.
Edit: Inaccurate information...? To clarify, I never once stated it was 10 inches short. I indicated that it was approximately up to 5" short in each direction, meaning length and width. This never changed from my original email. You offered half off to keep or ship a replacement. I specified I would like a replacement shipped since I prefer the product to fit better on the bed and there was a dimension discrepancy from the website, but this was never followed through since the tone changed the next day when you said I would have to stretch the product to get the measurements. I indicated the manufacturing process made sense, however, it is misleading to list tying frame measurements in the ad, not the actual finished measurements of the product. I should not have to manually stretch the product to get specified measurements. Your next solution was to offer the next size up for purchase. I indicated while I noticed there was an oversized king, it was quite a bit more expensive on top of having to pay to return, and I would have considered this had I known the finished measurements were less than specified. I also expressed that I did not have the unstretched measurement to verify fit. These measurements were never offered to me, and instead you said you'd wait for my return. So, I requested a full refund for the product. I did not "argue" about the shipping, but expressed that I was extremely uncomfortable about how this was being handled and felt bad for reaching out. I simply inquired about the size discrepancy and noticed you had backpedaled on a resolution. I also said I was confused that I was expected to pay for shipping on a product that was measuring up to 5" short in each direction after being offered half off to keep it. I am certainly happy to see that someone will benefit from this. Unfortunately, I doubt you will share the actual measurements since the correspondence has been misrepresented to make me look like a "difficult customer." The product is not on the bed stretched as it would on a tying frame; therefore, the unstretched measurements are what should be advertised. It is otherwise misleading and considered false advertising. To misrepresent my correspondence like this is unprofessional and shows no accountability. This matter has nothing to do with "not being able to please me." I have never had a company try to publicly gaslight a customer to invalidate an unfavorable review that is warranted in this...
Read moreThis is the best comforter I've ever had the pleasure to sleep with! I have had this comforter for two winters now. I adore this comforter and it brings me such joy to use it every night. I pack this comforter up in the height of our southern summer but I bring it out again come the first chill in September.
Previously, I have had nice comforters filled with down but they eventually clumped and stabbed me with pin feathers. I switched to the cheapest synthetic comforter Amazon could provide for years while I searched for my dream comforter. Frankenmuth's all-wool comforter IS my dream comforter!
I had a few boxes to check when I went to buy my comforter: (1) I wanted a comforter that would be made of high quality natural materials but still sturdy. I wanted a comforter that will last me for years. (2) Didn't make the sleeping experience too hot. (3) Didn't bunch up and get clumpy. (4) Plush and cozy. Didn't want a thin quilt of a comforter. (5) Preferably a comforter made in the USA so that I could support an American business.
This comforter checked all my boxes and then some. The material of the comforter shell is a creamy white that is extremely easy to spot clean/steam (I spilled coffee on it so...I know!). The stitching is impeccable and extremely high quality. The hand ties are holding strong after a year of use. We use a duvet cover but I wish that I could have a compatible cover from Frankenmuth to match (please?).
Thank you for making such a...
Read moreHello! I just want to say how amazing the Lightweight Wool Duvet from Frankenmuth Woolen Mill is! I bought it 2.5 years ago, and it’s still in great shape. It carried me through the hot Atlanta summers and the freezing Chicago winters—even when I turned off the heat and AC.
I was initially worried it would be uncomfortable during Atlanta’s heat, like my other duvets from Target, but this one actually performed really well. It’s the perfect comforter: not too hot in the summer, and cozy and warm in the winter.
It was really important for me to get a high-quality comforter made in a place that treats animals humanely. That’s why I was initially drawn to Frankenmuth Woolen Mill, even though I lived in Atlanta at the time.
After about 2 years, a big hole appeared in the cotton cover, exposing the wool inside. When my girlfriend visited and saw it, she said she couldn’t sleep well after two weeks of looking at the hole, and asked me to replace it. A week later, she asked if I could sew it into an old wool blanket instead—because it was just so much better in terms of coziness and temperature control. I did, and now we both enjoy this incredible blanket!
This duvet was absolutely worth it. It handled 1.5 years in Atlanta heat and over a year in Chicago's record-breaking cold. Highly...
