I truly cannot express more disappoint with this place. I used to frequent here more than twice a week 2014-2017 and it was phenomenal. If I return it will be for 5$ Thursday margarita only. I stopped in today for a SNACK. I turned down the $5.50 chips.. though now I question if that’s more than advertised as well. Raul’s website is Facebook. Great. They included a written menu there - great. I got one of my usuals- goat cheese quesadilla WITHOUT RICE OR BEANS. This is a snack, appetizer portion … 8 inch tortilla folded in half size quesadilla. Already disappointed because it’s no longer served with a dollop of sour cream and jalepeno slices - I let that go. The Facebook menu leads me to believe this quesadilla will cost me $9.00. Completely reasonable. I’m fully satisfied until the bill comes. My coconut margarita was delicious and the quesadilla was just enough - a quick snack. It was just me and a couple who ordered prior to my arrival. Sheri gave excellent… friendly and prompt service and made a perfect drink. The check reads 29.43. I was convinced she charges me someone else’s check or charged me for added rice and beans so I let her know that seems high. Come to my surprise, the quesadilla is $15.50 and the margarita is $12.00. The drink.. I’m not surprised and I think that’s worth it. I can’t even help but express to Sheri that the quesadilla is in no way worth nearly $16.00?? And let her know that Facebook advertised $9.00. She said it must not be updated. While I realize prices increase.. a $6.50 increase on something so simple is just not comprehensible to me. Given my expressed shock and displeasure, Sheri did offer to give me a free drink coin for when I return. I genuinely appreciate her gesture and effort and I realize she has no control over this. I was not going to go back and forth with her over $6.50. Unfortunately, I could not accept the coin because honestly, I am really questioning ever returning.
I believe the owner needs to either update their Facebook menu? Or honor the advertised priced. Very bad business. At this point I would not recommend to anyone. I do not think their food is worth the $$ at all. I’m wishing I went with one of my first considerations … shrimp and salmon hibachi at Mikado for the same price or good and affordable Mexican from Taco...
Read moreI'm a little surprised reviews are favorable here. The service was super slow, the prices are terrible for what you get, and the meat is DRY AF. The 2 stars is because the salsa is actually good, but it is also the only mexican restaurant i have ever been to that charges you for chips and salsa. They didn't even try to upsell it and ask if we wanted any, we assumed we get some and when it didn't come, asked for it. I got the mole poblano chicken tacos, the chicken was in huge chunks and was SO dry. I actually thought it would be seasoned chicken with a mole sauce drizzle but it wasn't Also very expensive for only 2 tacos. Everywhere else you get 3. My boyfriend got a quesadilla that was a super thin, just meat and cheese, so also overpriced. And the service, nice girl but holy slow! Took forever to take our drink order, took forever to get them (beer, very easy), then she said she would be right back to take our food order but that took forever, and everyone around us kept going inside to get their bill since she never returned. We had to do the same and got the wrong bill. Also we watched them turning tons of people away prior to 4pm, the website says they close at 7p, Facebook says 8p, but they turned people away at 3:45? Avoid this place, there is a better one just over the river that is more...
Read moreMy husband and I dined at Raul's on both Friday and Saturday nights. Friday was stellar, the food was delicious and the service was top notch. On Saturday, we arrived at a busy time. We asked to be seated outside and the young man who was hostessing took my phone number and said we would be called when the table was available. A table for four (2 tables for 2 pushed together) was available for the entire one hour and 15 minutes that we waited. I asked the host why the two tables couldn't be separated since no one was sitting at them and he said they were reserved for parties or three or four. Unfortunately for us and for them, no party of three or four arrived. So our very positive impression of Raul's Mexican grill was tainted by our long wait for a table for two while two paired tables that had been placed together sat empty the whole time we waited. The point of sitting outside was to listen to the live music coming from a neighboring restaurant, but by the time we sat down, the live music had ended. The food was still delicious and our waitress was good. It was simply poor management to allow satisfied customers to sit on a bench for more than an hour rather than separate two...
