This is one extensive menu. From breakfast dishes including omelettes and bagels and lox to a hot dinner entree. They have appetizers for a small bite. They have soups that are just divine. The matoh ball soup was heavenly. The matzoh ball was light and fluffy. This soup could cure everything from the common cold to the flu. The split pea soup was creamy and flavorful as well is their barley soup. The stuffed cabbage was fantastic in a sweet and sour sauce. I love knishes and nothing beats a hotdog from a Jewish Deli. We had the Sampler platter with hotdogs in blankets, potato knishes and potato pancakes, served with applesauce. Everything was terrific. The outside was crisp on the knish and pancakes and soft in the middle. The mini hotdogs were so flavorful. The overstuffed pastrami and corned beef sandwich was over the top. The very generous portions of meat topped with their homemade coleslaw, on the fantastic rye bread was dreamy. This is the epitome of a classic Jewish sandwich. We finished off with a cup of coffee and a classic black and white cookie.
An authentic Kosher Jewish Deli is few and far between. Yes they have many good kosher style delis in the New York and Long Island area. The Lido Deli is a true Kosher Jewish Deli. They are kosher and abide by the Jewish guidelines of being strictly kosher. Growing up in Brooklyn, NY I had so many wonderful Jewish delis in my neighborhood. Now they are gone. I live in Long Island and many of the delis in my area are also gone. I am so happy that Lido Deli has stood the test of time and has stayed where they are and true to themselves. It was a privilege to have dined in this epic establishment. This is a classic Kosher Jewish Deli, run by 3rd and 4th generation family members. They are a family owned and operated establishment and is a staple in the community. With wonderful service from everyone who works there, I definitely will be back. My one and only complaint is that I wish I...
Read moreWe recently celebrated a 90th birthday party at Lido Deli in Long Beach, NY, and I cannot express how absolutely incredible the experience was! From the moment we arrived, every detail was perfect. Despite my initial concerns about space and hosting 50 guests, the setup was flawless, and the ambiance was warm and inviting and everyone had plenty of space.
The owner, Wally, went above and beyond to make the day special. His professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine care for ensuring everything was perfect truly stood out. The food was beyond exceptional—delicious, plentiful, and presented beautifully. Everyone raved about the quality and variety of dishes. My favs are the latkes and the sandwiches.... So good.
The staff deserves a special mention as well—they were attentive, friendly, and ensured that every guest felt welcomed and cared for. They took care of even the smallest details with such precision and care, making the event completely stress-free for me and my family.
If you’re looking for a place to host a special occasion, look no further than Lido Deli. This is a gem in Long Beach, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the memories we created here. Thank you, Wally, and the entire team for an...
Read moreFirstly, great service! I didn't realize that there was a dine-in option, because I'm a Katz's deli customer generally, And they happily converted it to me me without making an issue about a tip for service, but service was with a wonderful smile. Ironically, that's what caused me to tip.
Both the pastrami and the corned beef, are better than I've had in every other similar style deli. Both crunchier and more flavorful, and I just wish that they were closer to me. Although I'd be worried about my waist if it was.
I'm just going to review two items that are not on the options of selecting:
Russell's Ruben: I don't know how this is not a staple in every single deli. The warm combination of the corned beef, and the warm sauerkraut, together with mustard, was phenomenal. I chose the garlic club bread, but I wonder if I overdid it and we'll try next time with plain rye bread.
Pastrami knish: it's a combination of just doubling down on everything jewey, And I'm just wondering what we can add in next time to make it even better. Maybe warm sauerkraut? 😁
Keep that tradition alive and...
