I really could NOT believe how I was treated at this establishment. My daughter had told me they had great smoothies so I called 1/2 hour in advance on a Wednesday afternoon after 3pm. I order the smoothies to pick up and they told me to come in 20 minutes to pick up the order. I got there and they never made the smoothies. I then said okay I guess I’ll wait but I was a bit disturbed that I called first to prevent a wait with my daughter in the car after school. Then I went to pay before they were made and I handed the guy who is always behind the bar there my debit card, that seems like he owns the place but I know he doesn’t. He tells me I can’t usr my card for less then a $20 purchase. REALLY???? After waiting and not even filling my order he wants me to use the ATM for a $3 extra fee for two smoothies that totaled $16. NOWAY I told him. I then drove all the way to the west end placed my order and used my card. As the limit there is $15????? If my daughter wasn’t so set on a smoothie that day noway would I have gone over to the west end establishment. I’m looking for other places all over Long Beach for smoothies now. Found out The Bagal Cafe on the corner on east Park makes smoothies too. Found a new go to place. That guy on the east end bungalow was plain and simply rude. There was only one couple eating in the place and he had told me he was too busy to have made the smoothies. Very rude. May I suggest the OWNER should have both locations have the same limit on using your debit card??? Bad business. Lost this customer and anyone I know. Long beacher for 20 years. I was literally shocked by the...
Read moreUnfortunately the food here is pretty much the same stuff they serve at nursing homes, or to the homeless. I'm not sure what everyone else who reviewed this place was eatting but we had the chimi steak and the fajita and both were like boot leather. The nice server asked us how we wanted our steak, we said medium and still ended up with boot leather. My steak was tough and seasoned with a grocery store marinade and my husbands fajita was black, tasteless and chewy dont even cover it. The rice was literally the most disgusting rice I've ever had, undercooked and again something you'd serve to someone who hasn't had a meal in ages so would be super greatful for slop. I think the drinks are the main attraction here but we didn't have any so I guess we weren't drunk enough to enjoy the food. I'm really sad this place didn't hit the service was excellent, food came out quick but maybe that's why it tasted like hospital food. Like seriously I've been hospitalized 5 times in my life and this is the same rice they serve at Lennox Hill hospital. Fortunately we had a profitable Friday so the 100.00 dollars I wasted on this meal didn't break me but my tummy is not happy at all. SHOP & STOP fried chicken hits 100000 times better and that breaks my heart. Aint no way this was worth 86 dollars (we tipped the waitress because we felt so bad she had to peddle this slop that's how we ended at 100) but yeah this is hard pass, I'm going to have 2nd dinner just so I don't end my Friday on...
Read moreVERY disappointing experience. We made a significant purchase and provided clear instructions regarding meat temperatures, dietary restrictions, and a tomato allergy. Unfortunately, most of the meat was undercooked, and there was tomato on the burger, which was concerning given the allergy. After driving back to the restaurant and clocking out from work, the response from the staff less than satisfactory. The cook handled the food with his bare hands to inspect it, which felt unsanitary and disgusting. Additionally, there was no offer to replace or refund the meal, which left me feeling frustrated.
*After a phone call with a “supervisor” we got a refund for ONLY the raw meat. This response was unprofessional and overall bad business.
In the past, I had a similar experience when ordering from Bungalow, where I was asked how I wanted my chicken cooked: rare, medium rare etc. It seems there may be inconsistencies in their service and food preparation. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant and suggest the DOH make a visit.
after checking the NCHD website it looks like they have been cited previously for: 3C food workers do not use proper utensils to eliminate bare hand contact with cook or...
