Estrellita Poblana New Rochelle — Restaurant in City of New Rochelle

Went into the restaurant and kept asking if we just sit ourselves or wait to be called no one answered. So we sat down at a empty table, once sat 15 minutes later of waiting we were told we had to get up for the table belong to another guest who arrived after us. They told us we never came to add our name to the book and we kept telling them we been here asking and no one responded. We decided to wait, mind you we were only a party of 2 while the rest were more than 4. Then we see two table empty meant for 2 people and we asked if we can sit there for it's been 30 minutes since anyone has sat, the owner kept saying no and other guest started to advocate for us. So the waitress sat us down and took our order. Things went from bad to worse. Wished we just ate car through than came over. At this point we were just over the situation we decided to order 2 margaritas, 1 dessert and I avocado smashed. The drinks were given to is wrong. So they brought new ones and were horrible, then then the avocado smash was mediocre and were spanish. Once the bill came, I told the waitress she charged us way too much for the avocado smash was $10 dollars not $18, she asked me if I knew how to add and I was offended. Told her to bring out the menu which she refused, then when I handed her my card tells me that the machine was broken. Shouldn't that be something you tell guest before serving them thank God I had cash. Then to make it worse, she never brought my change out and kept it. I will never come back again, horrible service overall. A pizza would have been a more pleasant...

I'd like to start by saying this. I've eaten in 3 other Estrellita Poblana locations for the past 5yrs I'm and this was by far the worst. We ordered some tacos (typical I know). Barbacoa, chicken tinga, with everything. And what came out were paltry filled and not what we ordered. We specifically asked for everything on them (tomato, lettuce etc) yet there was only onion and cilantro. Which fine, we can put that aside yet in addition to the missing accoutrements, the meat was underseasoned, sparse, mostly sauteed onions and peppers as well as filled with a runny sauce. (Wouldn't recommend)

Also pictured is a Pozole Sopa, which was fairly good, as well as a Oaxaca Tamale, which was not fairly good.

Overall, if possible try some of the other Estrellita locations, as they make it worth the effort. (The location in Arthur Ave in the Bronx has been...

DJ way to loud - worst margarita ever - we would not have known it was a margarita - watery , huge piece of ice in it - to be fair it was Cinco de Mayo and very busy - Decided to get Food to go because we did not want anoher bad margarita - Took a long time - $45 bill for two lousy Margaritas and four tacos - I gave the server $60 - She never returned so that's a damn good tip she assumed I guess . That being said - Again it was Cinco deMayo and the tacos were really really good so they need to work on the margaritas ( big time ) and the server seemed very new - Hopefully they can work things out and I wish them well - Would give them another chance - The Tacos...
