This is a lovely cafe with great coffee and food. Unfortunately, these positives are marred by thoroughly unprofessional staff.
I ordered a cappucino and a ham & cheese quiche (to be warmed up). The lady at the counter was pleasant, and promptly gave me the cappuccino as soon as it was finished. She mentioned that it would be a couple minutes for the quiche.
That's when trouble started! The other worker, a Colombian fellow with a beard (he works at Cafetero on Centre Ave. as well), came out of the kitchen and sat near the register. He and the other lady were conversing among themselves.
About 8-10 minutes passed. The lady was facing me the entire time. I finally got up and went to the register. The Colombian fellow stared at me, and didn't respond when I politely greeted him.
I asked the lady about the quiche, and she pretended to be apologetic. The quiche wasn't even in the oven, it was already packed up! Pretty weird that you'd sit there staring at a customer and "forget" to give them what they paid for. The other fellow didn't even apologize, and instead mentioned some nonsense about "she didn't take her medicine this morning".
All in all, this is a lovely cafe with good coffee, food and atmosphere. Unfortunately, the workers there have developed a personal grudge out of thin air despite my polite patronage.
It is especially worrying that the Colombian fellow (a grown man at that!) would place this irrational grudge above providing the bare minimum service for customers.
Despite the quality food and drink, I can't in good conscience recommend this place. I would implore the two workers, especially the insecure fellow, to seriously work on their personal growth before operating in a...
Read moreI’m new to New Rochelle and stumbled upon this gem of a shop a couple months ago, and I can’t stop telling my friends about it since. I don’t write many reviews but just had to for this beautiful coffee shop. Love stopping by here on my way to work as it’s only a few minutes from the station.
Absolutely adore this cafe. Their coffee and pastries are OUTSTANDING. 🤤🤤🤤 The matcha latte, cinnamon cappuccino, and iced chai latte are some of my favs and are made perfectly every time. The pastries are to die for too, so fresh and scrumptious. Try the chocolate almond croissant and homemade banana bread and you’ll see what I mean. They also have a great selection of teas. Amazing flavors. The apricot black tea is a must-try!
Besides the drinks and food, I love this place for its warm, cozy vibes. Makes me feel right at home. It also has beautiful artwork on the walls, which they change every so often and sometimes they showcase the work of local artists. Every time I stop by, I’m always greeted by the friendliest staff and owner. Hey Andrea and Paulo👋
All in all, I’m very happy to have found this little gem after moving here. Hands down...
Read moreNice Sunday, stopped in and placed an order like I’ve done before. Figured it might take a little longer since it was a busy day, so I waited patiently and tipped before hand. After about 25 minutes and watching 8 or 9 people get their orders before me, I went up to check turns out they completely forgot mine. No acknowledgment, no real apology, just shrugged it off.
It was clear they were behind and didn’t want to make what I originally ordered, so I ended up asking them to just give me a bottled drink instead. I basically had to manage my own customer service.
Might be a decent shop on a slow day, but if they can’t handle the rush, it’s not worth the wait. Won’t be back too many other spots...
