2 Stars because the restaurant is beautiful and staff were nice. My friends and I heard great things about this place so we were excited to check it out. When you walk in, the dining area is to the left and the bar area is to the right. We decided on the bar area for Happy Hour which is from 4pm to 7pm. However, when we sat down, we heard the bartender tell the server “Do they know Happy Hour is over at 6pm”. We asked why 6pm when the website and menu clearly say ends at 7pm? Per the bartender it’s because it’s Valentine’s Day. Nowhere does it mention that but ok no biggie. Now, let’s move on to the food. The roasted cauliflower was not roasted and was just ok. The spinach artichoke dip was not good but my friends seemed to like it. I’ve never seen spinach artichoke dip with slices of cheese over it. Finally, the Chicken Parmesan Sliders had no taste whatsoever. Had to add salt just to give it a little flavor. French fries came with the sliders and those were the best part of the meal. It doesn’t end there, I had a Peach Sun Cruiser which they bought out in a can. I was taken aback!! A CAN! Now, the most annoying part was the servers kept walking by and looking at our table to see if anything needed to be removed. Like, let us eat in peace. Why are servers constantly staring at our table and when you ask one a question, it’s like they didn’t understand what we were asking. Very very uncomfortable and annoying!! We definitely won’t be back for the Happy hour but we are going to try the dinner side and see if that’s any better. ...
Read moreThe food was meh. If you haven't traveled and been to different places, you'd think this was cuisine. But it's not. The menu itself is very confined- the usual pasta, meat, and appetiser options scattered all over New York. Nothing to really make this joint pop and yell out, "I'm different!" I'd call this restaurant one of comfort food rather than possessing any real gastronomy, artistry, or expertise. (There is nothing wrong with comfort food, but be sure to market yourself appropriately). The calamari was quite rubbery when chewed. The service was ... let's just say, helicopter-ish. Always hovering around us. The very wide man who served us was too comfortable with himself. He told us as we walked in, "Is this a special occasion? Are you pregnant?" He chuckled as he looked in my direction, an obviously underage girl. So, that was just gross. For only $60-something dollars, two drinks and an appetiser is the definition of hyping yourself a bit too much. But the place itself is okay for Instagram photos. Everything is average--you can do without it. I would definitely not bring someone from overseas or even another city here if I wanted to show them the best that New Rochelle has to offer. Even I as someone who's recently returned to this city after much time away .. I am so underwhelmed and bored at this point. Coromandel leaving was a great loss to the community .. Now, those guys knew how to make...
Read moreWe recently hosted our child’s First Communion celebration here and we couldn’t have been happier with our experience. From the start, communication with the owner, Greg, was easy, fast, and extremely professional. He made the planning process smooth and stress-free, and was personally present throughout the event, overseeing every detail to ensure everything ran perfectly.
The space itself was beautiful, comfortable, and ideal for a family gathering. The food was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully presented — and the drinks were equally impressive, offering something for everyone.
The staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and accommodating, treating our guests with genuine warmth. Every detail, big and small, was handled with care. The bathrooms were impeccably clean and modern, and valet parking was available right at the door, making arrival and departure extremely convenient for all of our guests.
Overall, Scratch exceeded our expectations in every way. It was the perfect venue for such a special occasion, and we are so grateful to Greg and the entire team for making the day truly memorable....
