Hunan Gourmet — Restaurant in City of Oneonta

Picked this place since China 19 is closed on Tuesdays now (?) and I was reeally craving Chinese food so I thought why not, we'll give this place a try. Worst. $20. spent. Seriously the worst Chinese food that I've ever tried. Ever. The sauces for both sesame chicken AND chicken 'n broccoli was so, so gross. You could say it was bland yet it did give off some really weird flavor. I've had sesame chicken at several other places, including a food court, where they all taste exactly the same, but this? It was like a watery ketchup mix. Resembled nothing like that of sesame chicken sauce. Same goes with the chicken and broccoli. To top it off, they didnt even include little sauces, fortune cookies or plastic ware, and they charged us a service fee for using a credit card when we went to pick the food up. What?? So bummed by this restaurant. Not sure what the point of reviews are though when evidently they aren't making...

$$$ very expensive for amount of food recieved compared to money spent. When finally I got home and unpacked the order, I thought they forgot something. Turns out the the containers are just small. Each item was roughly 10 or more. I expected bigger portions for the cost. The boiled dumplings had a different meat instead then what I expect from your average chinese food and a few of them had small pieces of bone. The sesame items were mostly breading. Of the 10 items I ordered... I think I enjoyed 2 of them. Not the quality I remember from when I last ordered from there. Maybe they rushed the order, and it was a big order. For the amount of money spent I was hoping for extras to be thrown in (egg rolls, or 2L of soda] like some other places have done, no luck. Only reason I ordered was because china 19 is closed on tuesdays. Guess chinese will no longer be an option...

They get 2 stars only because the food was a totally something you can chew and swallow. Other than that it is EXTREMELY bland. I'm literally sitting here with 17 bucks worth of food that I really cant eat. The sweet n sour sauce is very bland with a hint of orange that makes it unbearable. I've never had sweet n sour sauce taste like orange zest. So this is what I did...I sent my fiance to go and see what the China Buffett has at this hour and atleast she might come back with some actual sweet n sour sauce..I mean EVERYTHING is bland! The soup, the chicken, the sauce, the rangoon and the egg rolls..I dont know how this place has been around so long. They either need a new cook or they need to order better...
