They bullied the best worker into quitting. I used to love this place for one of the girls that worked there. Recently found out from others in the area (xtramart and McDonald’s) that she was bullied to tears on multiple occasions finally snapped and quit. I have also found out she was autistic and the manager wrote it off as she has mental problems. Let me tell you why we only ate here if she was there. That was the only person you EVER saw wash their hands. The only one with a damn brain as well. They hire mostly dumb pretty teenagers. She was one of the only adults in there on a regular basis that spoke English and some of their language as well it seemed. She would force them to wear gloves, take over orders when she noticed they weren’t wearing gloves. She would be so nice and explain anything you needed to you. They overworked that girl if you ask me, she worked on average 50-60 hours a week it seemed. If you were a regular she remembered YOUR NAME and made you feel at home. She was the atmosphere for me and my nurse friends. When we heard of this from her friends and family we were appalled. I advise you to think twice about eating here now. We love empire pizza but the heart of the Saratoga location was that girl. And finding out she was treated this way and left homeless and jobless is heartbreaking and makes you never want to return. Dirty place without her.
Also to add the worker I’m talking about is the lightskin girl without braces. The adult. I believe they drained her of all she did and don’t even care. I heard from others another lady has complained and they argued with her on the phone that where they said she has mental problems. I’m pretty sure there are illegals working here too. Just seems like a shady place especially since staff are allowed to be verbally abused daily. Wore translator earphones once while that girl was getting yelled at (we thought it was a one time occurrence and I fortunately still had them on, I wear them to nail appointments) and the stuff said by the ones who can’t speak English was awful. You could tell she knew enough to hear it but couldn’t defend herself in the language fluently. But they’ve told her to kill herself before from the one time I heard it. Finding out it was a daily occurrence is crazy this place should be closed down Saratoga doesn’t need these...
Read moreMannnn I didn’t think someone would post a review in my honor but hello I’m the worker being talked about in the other one star review.
For the record I’m only posting this review based on what I saw this evening when I finally decided after months to show my face here and buy food with a friend.
All the abuse I used to take is now put onto the other girls who work here. They are overworked and forced to do a lot of work because the Turks refuse to work. It’s basically slave labor at some point and they reduced the girl working to tears right in front of me. She was confiding in me on how she was treated as she knows I’ve experienced it first hand. Everything said in the other review is also true, I myself was reduced to tears on several occasions and they basically just pretended autism wasn’t a thing??
But the Turks just got aggressive with me over the girl confiding in me about how she’s been treated since I left. I tried really hard to give the empire pizza of Saratoga a chance but I agree with the other review… saratoga doesn’t need or want these kinds of people.
Be careful. They are now posting fake reviews to up their ratings. The new 5 star ones are employees and one of the owners and one is a friend...
Read moreWe hosted our son's birthday at the Children's Museum at Saratoga this weekend and decided to order pizza from Empire Pizza as it was just a few minutes up the road. We couldn't have been happier.
Tori was so patient and pleasant over the phone and was available a number of times to answer various questions and confirm the order, making recommendations along the way. We ordered 16" cheese, pepperoni, veggie and supreme (empire pizza special) pizzas cut to 8 rather than 12 for the perfect sized slices.
The pizzas arrived at precisely the time I had requested. They were hot, fresh, and delicious—everyone enjoyed them. We also ordered a small veggie no-cheese pizza for a child with peanut, dairy and egg allergies which he thoroughly enjoyed as well.
They also provided a generous amount of pizza toppings as requested. Thank you so much Empire Pizza, we'll definitely be...
