Loved the conveyor belt atmosphere and it was a fun dining experience. However, most of the items on the conveyor belt had the same ingredients just presented in different ways each at a different cost. It was a bit pricey even though it was half priced and I would have preferred some additional sushi roll options from their menu and not just the standard basic ingredient rolls that were provided on the belt. There is a sushi menu and a regular menu you can order from, although they wouldn't let us order some things from the regular menu while at the conveyor belt which was a bit frustrating as we had a larger party and not everyone wanted the conveyor belt. They did let us order some dinners from the menu which were all very good. We got the Chicken Teriyaki Bento Box which came with a good portion of other items. I would opt to sit in the regular dining room and order off the menu next time. The conveyor belt would be good for someone looking for a quick meal as you are ready to start eating as soon as you sit down. I would like they conveyor belt more with the basic rolls if they offered an all you can eat option for one price. The food ordered from the menu came quick and the staff was attentive and we enjoyed the atmosphere and experience of the conveyor belt.

Absolutely a great night out especially if you enjoy sushi in a super clean well lit atmosphere. You can tell I 5 seconds that the folks working there take pride in their job, customer service as well as the final product....the sushi! I've been to Japan and the minute I walked in I felt as if I walked into a Sushi bar somewhere in Kyoto. If you've never had sushi before or you're a novice check out their Monday HALF PRICE night you'll get the chance to sample a variety of sushi and save some money as well. And if you're a expert or are planning a date night check out Wednesday night ALL YOU CAN EAT event it's $25 a person and totally worth it...but bring your appitie because they mean ALL YOU CAN EAT and customers try to out do each other with their own "TOWER OF PLATES" it almost looks like a version of Jenga...trust me with Sakana-Ya's conveyor belt the plates keep coming! It's located in the heart of Amory Square a melting pot of old world and High fashion.

We were visiting from out of town so I looked up all you can eat restaurants in the area and this one popped up. We decided to take the 15 minute drive to eat in. Upon entering, We saw that it was an all conveyor belt restaurant. We were quickly seated and were given water. The server was very friendly and tried to help us with the menu and how the conveyor system worked. We found out that it was in fact Not "All you can eat" like their website had all over it. So that was a little disappointing. We started to notice the same sushi going around and around the entire time we were there. So no telling how long it had been turning. To be honest, the sushi was just okay. It surely didn't taste fresh at all. It tasted more like the sushi you buy out of the case at Sam's Club. Our bill came to $42. We definitely left feeling like we didn't get our money's worth.

I went on a Friday night for their "All You Can Order" sushi buffet. Me and my friends were the only people at the conveyor belt, and this was prime dinner time, got there at 6 pm. They asked what we wanted to order and made the sushi fresh, which is definitely preferable to having old sushi just revolving around the conveyor belt. We each ordered a variety of sushi to try them out. We finished our sushi, then we place another order. I wanted another order of salmon nigiri, since it was one of the only sushi rolls that was not saturated in the sauce. The waiter then said that I could not order that and that I have reached my limit on that roll. No where does it say that there is a limit for any type of roll, especially when the point is "All you can eat". It wasn't even like I ordered excessively or that I wasn't finishing my plates. On top of it all, one of my friends felt like throwing up after because of all of the sauces they saturate on their sushi (she did not have a lot of pieces, maybe 10 pieces of sushi). Then by the end when I wanted to make a third order, they did the old cheap tactic of loading up each roll with too much rice and less sushi filling to try to fill me up so that I would not be able to finish (though I did finish). Easily one of the worst sushi buffets I have experienced with their arbitrary sushi limit, too much sauce and typical sushi owner BS. Now I can see why there was not anyway else on a...

This location is divided into two distinct sections- 1) The eat-in, sit down style restaurant and 2) the sit down conveyor belt sushi.

The conveyor belt side is narrow and long, using mirrors to appear larger. Sometimes, there can be a wait, as groups like to sit together and the all-you-can-eat special is very popular. This side is more intended for a shorter meal, but not fast food. More modern and Asian-Fusion like.

The other side has a more cozy and traditional feel to it. There are wooden tables, matching decor, and a calm ambient atmosphere. Better for a quiet meal.

What I LOVE about this restaurant is they ensure EVERY guest is taken care of. They offer vegetarian options and even supply patrons with GLUTEN FREE soy sauce, if needed! They are reasonable about substitutions also, so if you cannot consume gluten, they are VERY careful about this!

Specials might change, but Wednesday is all you can eat for one price. On this day, yes, it can be crowded with a wait and sometimes, the staff could improve verifying that guests have everything they need. There have been some visits where a waiter never checked on us at the sushi bar and refills on water never happened. Minor inconveniences, but they are things that get remembered. Also, it's a little unclear how to order specific foods from the sushi conveyor belt. Unsure if you should be speaking with the chefs or going through the wait staff, as they sometimes...

Food is excellent and the whole all you can eat menu was revamped to the better. Quality of sushi is outstanding and our waitress was very quick, efficient, and courteous. The reason for 3 stars is that the place is not baby friendly...we have a 5 months old and after waiting 5 minutes in the waiting line to be seated, the guy at the entrance saw us and didn't allow us to sit at the conveyor belt stating very firmly "its busy tonight and you can't be seated with a baby here in this area". My wife and I told him we brought a sling for that reason and its a 5 months old and wouldn't require a separate seat or more space, the guy said again firmly "I'm sorry but its too busy to sit here with a baby". One of the reasons we came to this restaurant is the experience and freedom of picking up plates off the belt and we told that to the host but he wasn't listening. Very disappointing and rude, he didn't even want to have a discussion and wasn't open to suggestions. Eventually he offered to seat us in the other part of the restaurant and get us the items we wanted from the menu, thankfully there was space to accommodate us. I hate the fact that I wrote this review to such an excellent sushi place but I've never been put in that situation where I was denied seating in a restaurant because of having a baby and I believe that its important for other people to know about such...
