Disappointed we didn’t get the same experience as so many of you. Seated outside on a beautiful Friday eve our encounter started being seated a table made of wood slats which when paired with a lazy water service server makes for 8 wet shoes socks and pants without apology. Special menus on plain cheap 8.5x11 paper immediately ruined by wet table. Dad asked our waiter if they had the big whisky ball and the server said they did, dad and gf ordered makers marks no big ice ball, actually chips which do melt much faster so that was weird. I had to ask for honey for my hot tea 4 times. So my tea wasn’t hot since that took 20 minutes. Our server was completely unfamiliar with the menu and any questions he answered were straight up wrong. We ordered baked clams, pasta which was bland at best, no flavor, the pork chop which was cooked well and generous but came alone, the shrimp salad (3 shrimp) and the branzino. Nothing stood out whatsoever. The staff was fighting w us the entire time trying to take our plates and (actually really cool contemporary) cutlery. It was like a joke. Dad rose his voice at one point for the guy to stop. The chef came out just after our first bites and we almost all laughed out loud as we were just talking about how unimpressive everything was. My mom was like should we tell him some capers wouldnt hurt the fish? Then they took my gf’s plate without asking literally while she was eating. The whole thing was like, are we on a mtv reality show? It felt like we were in a foreign country. That said this place would get 5 stars in some places like 3rd world but the competition is just too stiff here and the service was really pretty bad. Then they gave us more terrible 8.5x 11 paper desert menus again immediately ruined by the (continuously wet and dripping onto our lower regions) table. We all laughed again. A few minutes later since gf didn’t want to touch the nasty menu she was leaning over it on the table looking at it about 5 inches away and one of the porters snatched it right as she was reading it aloud to the table. No dessert for you! Waiter never came back. $153 + tip. Maybe we just got unlucky? It’s doubtful any of us will ever go back. Too bad as it’s in a really great location and the patio and I’m told inside too...
Read morerestaurant could be great but they need to change several things STAT*
We ordered a margherita pizza (waiter stated that's what type of pizza he could serve us altho not on menu which was cool) and a linguini clamsauce. We also ordered fried calamari as an appetizer.
Fried calamari was very good, schmedium sized portion.
Entrees took way too long to come out. About 40 mins
Pizza then came out with just cheese and sauce (no basil) but then waiter brought some out for us after we stated he gave us a cheese pizza, and not a margherita pizza.
Pizza was good.
The linguini clamsauce was the most upsetting part. The clams were good BUT they only served LITERALLY 2-3 bites of linguini. You actually couldn't see any pasta with your eyes when the dish was served onto table. The small amount was buried under bottom of shells. You had to dig for it. I have Never seen that small amount in a pasta dish before, especially for 24$. Would've been good enough MAYBE if you are about to turn 1 year old. This was very disappointing and upsetting.
IF they increased portion size significantly and decreased their long ticket times for entrees, this could be a 4/5 or a greater.
There were also only 6 tables including us so it def shouldn't have...
Read moreEdit: Recently noticed they scam credit cards by changing the tip that has been written down. I have seen proof this is systemic and has been happening for at least many months. The manager offered a gift card but would not correct the charge.
Any restaurant is permitted to have an automatic gratuity added. It is absolutely fraud to modify the bill after it has been signed.
If you plan to eat here, do not use a credit card.
THE GM ADMITTED TO BEING AWARE OF THIS FRAUD!!!!!!!!!!!!! and defended the practice "my waiters gotta eat"
Went to la Botte for Easter dinner with the family. The environment is enjoyable, well designed and spacious. The service was very good.
The drinks were not remarkable but consistent and quality. For an appetizer I had the eggplant, which was absolutely delicious. The cheese plate was also enjoyable.
I got the NY strip for dinner, which was a mistake. Now when the two most expensive dishes in the menu are steak, you expect it to be decent. My steak was a cooked shoe, dense, chewy and worst of all utterly tasteless. Stick to the Italian classics, no steak here. The filet which another at the table got, was more tasty for being...
