A friend turned me on to Melt soon after it opened. I’ve eaten there perhaps 10 times since. Each time, while good, I sense a decline in attentiveness and quality, most starkly yesterday. I ordered my usual aged beef which carries a dollar surcharge which is fine. I never mind paying for good food. Perhaps it was because they were closed the day before, being Christmas, and it was slightly before noon, and the meat was leftover from days before, but it was I hesitate to say terrible. Way over cooked, basically crumbling out of the sandwich and thoroughly disappointing. In addition the soda machine was at first not working. The gentleman then turned a key on the side and it worked. My wife then arrived and although I had already purchased a soda for her, I didn’t fill it, wanting to wait for her to get there. Again the machine was not working. The gentleman said we are waiting for the Co2. Okay. She sat down, sans drink, and began to eat. After a few minutes, I got up to see if it was working. It wasn’t. It seemed fine to them that we would not get to fill our cup for which we had paid. It was then I was invited to take a drink from the small beverage fridge which is always poorly stocked with labeled drinks few have heard of. It’s not easy to run a successful shop. It’s much more difficult to keep up the quality. Perhaps this was an anomaly, but I’d think twice before going again. As an aside, the metal paneling on the wall next to the seating has been cracked and peeling since it opened. It is held together in places with unsightly and dirty tape. With all the good reviews and the crowds one would think this is a somewhat profitable business. How does one allow that disgusting condition, right st elbow height, to linger so long unless one...
Read moreThis place might be Halal, but the amount of Au Jus they give you for a French Dip sandwich should be Haram. It's a borderline comical portion they are getting away with. Less than 5ml of Jus for a footling sandwich that's drier than Ben Shapiro's wife on Valentine's Day.
Edit (9/5/24) Reply to generic owner message: "Please come in and allow us to serve you again and ensure you are completely satisfied. Sometimes we find in transit and with delivery services these kind of problems happen. Rest assured you will be a happy customer"
Cute of you to absolve yourself from all responsibility of your parsimonious portion sizes by blaming the delivery service. You guys are the ones that dictate how much au jus comes with the sandwich, and you guys alone had the bright idea to accompany a footlong sandwich with that laughably diminutive container of aus jus.
I won't be ordering or patronizing your establishment ever again, but if you truly wish to make it up to me- make it up to your future customers.
Either start serving your French Dip sandwich with a reasonable amount of dip (maybe in a container that is actually big enough to actually DIP the sandwich in). Or just remove the sandwich from your menu altogether, because as it stands now it is an unmitigated embarrassment.
You should know better than anyone: Business transactions should be conducted with fairness and integrity, as stated in the Qur'an: "Give full measure when you measure, and weigh with a balance that is straight. That is the most fitting and the best in the end" (Surah Al-Isra, 17:35). Exploiting customers by overcharging or providing unfair portions is seen as a form of deceit and oppression, both of which are...

Extremely disappointed. This used to be one of the best spots in white plains. After going in here today, seeing new menu items, a new layout, and people I have never seen before- I came to the conclusion they have got new owners. I believe I spoke with the new owner (he was the one taking the orders) who was very nice, and pleasant. Unfortunately, that was the extent of the good I have to say.
Not only did he say he had to ring my second sandwich up as a separate transaction (I found this odd, why could you not add it to my first sandwich, just to get more sales?) the cost was way more than what it normally is. When I was handed the bag, it felt extremely light. I have gone in here over 1000 times since it’s opened years back, I knew right there something was off.
After getting back to my office, I opened up the sandwich and was actually appalled. Not only was my order completely wrong, the flatbreads are now at least half the size of what they used to be, and they’re 3-4 dollars MORE EXPENSIVE? Absolutely egregious and just down right sad. A place that was the perfect lunch, the perfect spot, has now been ruined by greed. A former regular customer, sad to say I will no longer be patronizing this business. Insulted isn’t even the word.
Extra note: they do not have many of the old items either, I asked for bacon and...
