Staple of the community. But bcuz the concept of "customer service" is somewhat new age, this can be lacking in interacting with employees. For instance, this morning my order did not have the condiments I asked for on the food. When I mentioned this to one staff, not the staff that made the order, he informed me I could get packets from the cashier. When I requested the sandwich be taken back to be fixed, he walked away. Upon approaching the cashier I explained my displeasure with this response to which he replied he didn't want to get involved as he was "just the cashier". Luckily, the gentleman that made the sandwich approached me from behind the counter and asked if he could correct the item. I handed my food back to him and thanked him. I gathered that the first employee relayed to him that the condiments were missing but walking away in the middle of me speaking to him did not convey this. So, yeah. The famous Royal Scarlet and it's famous for good reason, the foods great. This old school deli does sandwiches right. For breakfast try the oatmeal. I think they make 50 gallons a day, from scratch, and ladle it out like porage in Oliver Twist but man it's the real deal. On a cold day it warms your belly and your soul. Legit business and illegal business don't go together. What you can get away with in the 5 boroughs as far as illegal business activities. You can't get away with for long in white plains and as you can see they were shut down recently for illegal business activities inside the store. ALOT of strange characters frequent the store which can be a safety concern for the good customers. Just a matter of time before the FEDS shut down the store...
