El Cafetero Bakery — Restaurant in City of White Plains

Stingy with the picante sauce. This morning I went to El Cafetero Bakery to order Empanadas for the office staff. I told the woman at the counter I wanted 12 empanadas and 12 little 1 ounce cups of picante sauce(which usually come when you order 1 empananda). She said she could only give me 6 with my order of 12 empanadas. I asked her why? I am ordering 12 empanadas I should receive 12-1 ounce cup of picante. How does that even make sense I replied. If you order more empanadas you should receive more Picante sauce not less. 1 picante sauce per each empanada. She said I don't know that is what the owner George told her to do. and if I wanted 6 more picante sauces she would have to charge me for them. So I said ok I'll pay for them. In the office we take COVID19 very serious and we do not want 2 people handling the same 1 ounce cup of sauce. When I told my staff that I was charged for the additional 6 ounce cup of picante they told me I should not have purchased the empanadas and went else where. Now I wish I would not have purchased them. But that ok....My staff and I have decided to Boycott El Cafetero Bakery and all his other restaurants. Moral of the Story....Don't nickel and dime your...

This place were nice love the music and the person in charge/owner? Thank you! Will definitely come back here again soon! Fries and wings were yummy!

I just hope they have more options but we were told we can bring some food here so that is nice :)

Update: after had a hookah here twice for some reason it makes me really dizzy and end up fainting and puking 🤮 and felt so cold and I was shaking.

idk what’s the deal because I’ve never experienced it at other locations that I’ve been and I’ve been to many.

It’s not like I did anything special before hand or that particular day. It’s as usual day for me whenever I go here. It scares me so I don’t wanna risk it anymore.

As much as I love this place unfortunately I can’t smoke here ever again :(.

Btw, when I came here twice I’ve had the same exact drink frozen strawberry Margarita and watermelon and mint mix hookah. For food wise, had fries and wings as they only have those. So not sure if it’s the hookah, the drink or the food of...

I measured a colomian spot on how crispy the pork belly is. I usually will have it on the weekends for breakfast and order it to go. I just started eating from this place since August i think. From the time i order to the time i get there the staff has been just sweet and warming, and even though i come in with a long face and feeling grumpy from waking up they always greet me with a smile. I could tell they enjoy their job so i know is a clean spot. The chicharon has been right on the spot crispy, crunchy, and full of flavor. The pork belly just complements the rest of the food the rice and beans, sausage, and steak is medley of flavors that my whole family enjoys. The bakery options they offer are just as good the guava chicharon is my favorite is always fresh and flaky with just the right amount of sweet. By the time I'm done i don't need any more food until the next day. I would like them to make me my coffee, but I guess I could make that...
