On Friday night I placed an order over the phone for pick up. I ordered a lobster pizza and a small order of fries. I asked the woman over the phone, “what else comes on the pizza” ? She responded with bacon. I told her no bacon multiple times. When I arrived my order was coming out of the kitchen. Before I gave her my card to pay, I told her again that I do not eat pork. Another gentleman that was standing next to the counter, made a joke and said “they put extra bacon”. I paid, left a tip and walked out.
When I got home, I opened the box and I could smell the bacon. I immediately called to report the issue. First, she asked me if I lived too far to come back. I responded with yes. She put me on hold for almost 5 minutes. She took my information down and instructed me to come in tomorrow for another one.
On Saturday, I called in a lobster pizza with no bacon. When I arrived I told the waitress I am here to pick up a new pizza because the kitchen got my order wrong last night. She looked confused. She went to the back and got the bartender. The bartender then comes out and tells me he is unable to give me the pizza if I don’t have the pizza from the night before. I sure hope this is not protocol. I sure hope they’re not re packaging returned food. Why would you want food that has been in my fridge back in your establishment. I proceeded to drive home to retrieve the pizza. I return with the box in my hand. He opens the box and sees that the entire pie except the slice that I tossed out was still there. At this point, I was extremely annoyed. I requested to speak to a manager multiple times. At this point I did not want the pizza, instead I wanted my money back. I was told the manager would not be able to refund me until 5 PM or later. I sat down at the bar where I was refused service until someone else sat down. The bartender told me I ruined his day. He should’ve stayed out of it. I stayed for almost 30 minutes. I left with the same box of pizza from 12AM that morning.
When I left the waitress told me that they usually ask to see the food. I told her she could’ve asked for a picture(See below). She then said “you can’t have your cake and eat it too” . A slice of cake with bacon isn’t for me either. Those two should never be left in the restaurant...
Read moreWent last week with 3 friends. Food was pretty good and service was okay. We noticed afterwards we were charged for something at the end of the meal that we did not order. Mistakes happen which is fine and I should have read the receipt before paying. Lesson learned. The issue is how the resturant handled it afterwards.
When I called that same day, the waitress insisted me and my friend asked for a menu near the end of the meal and made an additional order. I assured her that I don't think she's lying, just mistaking us for another table but she kept repeating that she was positive it was us. I asked to speak with a manager and would look into a partial CC dispute if possible. I was informed that a a manager was not available and they would call me either later that night or tomorrow.
A manager did not call me. Mistakens happen, maybe they did not seen the note. I called on Monday and was told a manager is not available but the waiter would leave a note for them and get back to me tomorrow. Tuesday passed and still no contact. I call back Wednesday afternoon. The waiter informs me that a manager is not available but would be there after 7:00 PM. I call again at 7:30 and was told that there is no manager on shift right now but they would call me back tomorrow. As of this point, I have still not heard back.
Looking back, I can see where the waitress made the error. On the call, she said she remembers me and my friend asking for another menu. The problem is that we were a table of 4, not 2. Also, I believe she served the table adjacent to us around the same time which was a table of 2. Lastly, our receipt says "Guests: 2" despite ordering 4 meals...
Read moreI love the food here. It’s one of my favorite places to eat. But the service tells a very different story. If you’re Black, the waitresses and bartenders are noticeably less warm, friendly, or attentive than they are with others. This isn’t based on one bad night. I’ve been here several times, and it has happened repeatedly.
Most recently, I came in with my son after school to order takeout. I asked the waitress how long it would take, and she said 15 to 20 minutes. I placed my order and set an alarm for 25 minutes. When the food still wasn’t ready, I sat at a table and tried to make eye contact with her, but she avoided me. I had to walk toward the back of the restaurant to ask about the order. Instead of a friendly “let me check on that for you,” she said, “the order wasn’t placed that long ago.”
I then asked to speak with a manager and was told one wasn’t there. I was brushed off and met with attitude instead of receiving decent customer service. Every time I’ve come here, the women working have been rude or dismissive, and I’ve heard the same experiences from other friends of color.
It’s disappointing, especially in a community where I live, pay taxes, and bring my child. I won’t frequent this place as much because of the service, even though their food is delicious. That...
