Walked in for dinner for the evening and grabbed a seat at the bar. The atmosphere was welcoming and the restaurant was well lit to notice its cleanliness. The staff was nice and I saw the manager interacting with guests and well established patrons of the establishment. I tried the shrimp cocktail and it was great. Generally not a fan of jumbo shrimp as I have found they are often over cooked and rubbery. These were excellent along with the cocktail sauce served. Next up was the lobster in the tarragon butter. This one seemed overcooked and not as enjoyable. Then there was the New England clam chowder with bacon through it. This a large portion and a meal in itself. Very good and reminded me of clam chowder but with a baked potato kick to it given the bacon in it. I do recommend the clam chowder. After that I had the salmon. Remove the skin. It is served with the skin but it was so charred it will ruin the taste of it. Not the best salmon I have had but was good and filling. For a side I ordered the broccoli and it was great and done right. Dessert was the pecan tart. Told it was a local favorite and it tasted similar to a pecan pie. I feel like more could have been done to twist up the flare to this dessert and have less crust to the tart or maybe make it unique with chocolate or fruit actually mixed into the tart. It is served with vanilla ice cream and some quartered strawberries surrounding the tart. Overall the food was good and price point was okay. I heard others raving about the oysters but those are not might thing. Staff was attentive and I think my water only got low once but was quickly refilled. Had to summon the bar tenders as I was struggling with deciding what to try but once I got their attention service was great. Will try to sit down and see how their table service is and try something new in the future.

We dined here last night for dinner and I must say I’m a bit conflicted with leaving this review. The staff and ambiance is welcoming but could be a bit friendlier. We were immediately seated after arriving for a 9pm reservation. The restaurant also closes a bit early for a Saturday night. We were also immediately greeted by our waiter who was professional and courteous . We ordered a coupon of cocktails and once they were server, we then proceeded to order a couple of appetizers. The smoked old fashion while I liked the taste, it was nothing to rave about. The Tito’s mule was also in crushed ice and again, nothing special. Our disappointment was with the oysters - 6 west coast and two of them tasted bad. Also, I had broken oyster shell in on of them. The calamari, is poorly done and the batter falls off while picking them up. Our mains were lacking flavor and there was a broken clam in the clam dish. Again, I ended up eating clam shell. I informed the waiter in a nice manner and he was understanding and I also noted it was not his fault. Seems that the kitchen staff is in a rush to exit once the clock approaches 9:30. We also felt rushed while dining and the restaurant cleared out around 10:30pm with one set of guests remaining. At first, I wanted this to be a place I could visit regularly for oysters since it’s so close to home but they also only had two types of oysters. I hope things turn around for them but for now, I would need to see improvements on the dishes. The restaurant made good on the oysters and clam linguine and removed it from our bill so hence why I was conflicted with the review.

Suburban restaurants are often overrated places serving up disappointing experiences. And then there is Kee Oyster House. A White Plains restaurant that lives up to the hype. An energetic and robust friendly greeting from the front of house staff welcomes you into a warm, hip neighborhood space with an urban vibe. A steady hand in the kitchen turns out oyster house fare with contemporary flair backed by high-quality ingredients and expert preparation. Craft cocktails and a tailored wine list provide a superb backdrop for the menu. Deft service from the bartending and the waitstaff lead to pampered table & bar service. All the patrons seem to be having a joyous time as if there were a celebration at every table. Kee Oyster House defies the suburban paradigm and shows that a talented and dedicated team of restaurant professionals can create a unique destination restaurant almost anywhere.

The bartender couldn't care less about our presence.

He served us flat prosecco from an almost-empty bottle at $10 a glass (my first glass had someone else's lipstick on it, too). My husband ordered a pint of beer and got a 10oz glass instead. The bartender made sure to tell one of the owners (Elvi), who we met previously, something about us in their native language and the owner turned his back on us and never acknowledged us through our entire visit. That was the exact opposite of the way Elvi treated us the first time we were there and he was the reason we tried it again.

The blue point oysters were really good, though the kumamotos were a little old. We decided to get a bite of hot food and when we asked about the happy hour food specials, the bartender directed us to crab bites, 4 crab cake balls smaller than ping pong balls. No price was disclosed and we didn't ask. Well, it was $22.

When we were done, the bartender cleared our plate still containing a ramekin of mango salsa with one hand and gave us a bag of potato chips with the other. My husband tried to stop him from bussing the dish so he could use the mango salsa as a dip for the chips. The bartender said it was too late, he would get us another ramekin. Instead, he hands us the overpriced dinner menu and asked us what else we wanted. At that point, we wanted the check. When we left, the bartender said absolutely nothing. He didn't even thank us when we handed him payment. The hostess is the only one who said goodbye to us.

I was so terribly disappointed. We had been there once before for a wedding anniversary and had such a great experience at the bar with Elvi. We are hardly ever able to take advantage of their happy hour because of our schedules and we finally had a chance to go the day before Father's Day. We thought we would have a passable experience at the very least. We ended up feeling underappreciated...
