I just visited Saca's for the first time today and was very impressed. I ordered the Falafel Sandwich Italian Style with a side of french fries and a square baklava. This is a casual restaurant where you order at the counter and can either eat inside or get carry-out. I ordered my food to-go but I did spend some time inside while I waited for my order to be made. The inside of the restaurant is lined with square tables and chairs, and a soda machine selling craft soda only. You will not find name-brands like Coca-Cola or Pepsi here. They also have high-chairs for toddlers and children. The restaurant itself is immaculate and incredibly well maintained. It has very nice lighting and a welcoming ambiance. There are also a couple of tables and chairs right outside of the entrance should you like to enjoy the outdoors while you eat.
My food was made fresh after I ordered it. I did not have to wait long, maybe 5 minutes, before it was done. The reason that I rushed to write this review is because of just how good the food was. The falafel sandwich I had included falafel's, spinach, pesto, onions, and pickled turnips wrapped in pita bread. It was incredible. I don't often review food, so I lack the words here, but this sandwich was very good and made me happy after eating it. I cannot wait to go back and try the other versions of their falafel sandwiches and platters as well. The french fries I ordered were cooked to perfection, golden and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The baklava was also incredibly delicious. They had several versions of it, but I tried the square one.
Anyways, I can highly recommend this to anyone looking for some Mediterranean food...
Read moreI love authentic Mediterranean food and usually have it often, this unfortunately did not meet my expectations as I was excited to try it. I brought my son here because we are doing a report on the western Asia region and I thought Mediterranean food would be perfect to introduce him into some food of its culture .
Firstly , the young boy at the front was kind but the older gentleman was very unfriendly almost as if I was a bother asking him a question. Twice.
The Food: 1/10 - I don’t believe the hummus is house made nor the garlic “paste”. The garlic paste was very watered down in texture.
My meat had so much fat in it. My son’s chicken was so so bland. The food was cold and almost immediately served to us after ordering. I atleast had hoped it would be warm.
I KNOW for certain the pita bread is not freshly made , but store bought. It stiffened up pretty quickly.
I so wish I could say something was pleasant, perhaps the walnut roll! That’s my 1 star.
Being to other places , I was unpleasantly surprised at our plates and for the price. Very disappointed I’m never returning here again .
If you want some real authentic Mediterranean food , visit RISEN in Upland California.
So delicious everything is fresh including the...
Read moreFood was good, although the fountain drinks tasted a little soapy like it wasn't rinsed out properly. The thing that really disappointed me is that we ordered a good amount of food and when we asked for hot sauce, we got a tiny cup (which would be fine for one person's meal). But when we asked for another tiny cup of hot sauce, we were told we had to pay extra, even though we had multiple plates. It's disappointing because it should be fair to allow each plate some complimentary hot sauce, as some people enjoy their food spicier than how it's cooked, and the one tiny cup of hot sauce isn't enough to share for multiple plates of food. That just disappointed my experience as we don't mind paying a little more for good food, but what we pay for should be fair...
