These reviews and this score is a love-fest, to be sure. And that's why I dropped in. Oh, and I get it. Now. See, if you're in a certain market, you've got to cook your food a certain way to give your market what they're used to--what they want. But, if you're used to yiros, you might be a bit surprised. And that's why I write. This yiros is anything but conventional. The meat is straight lamb, to be sure. But I think it's brined, and you will notice just how much salt this plate is delivering you. If you suffer HBP, take note. If not, you will. The bread is particularly good. Tzatziki seems absent. When I noticed the melted cheddar: Wha? All-in-all, passable. The yiros looks burrito-ish, and tastes like a cheeseburger. Here, I'm sure that makes sense. As others have alluded, the joint is clean and well-lit, the staff friendly, the food quick. Plenty of parking. Note: No grape leaves, but the menu reads like an '80s mall food court with its United Nations. It's not terribly expensive as some have said. If I go back, I'll skip the #1 for the Korean barbecue. Keep doing what you do, Sam: It clearly...
Read moreFamished and starving I found myself wandering through the doors of this Greek cafe today. Hungry and aimless I saw the menu with no clue as to what I wanted to cure this hunger that pained me. So without second thought I walked to the counter where I found Lauren. And asked her what she thought was good to eat. Lauren’s intuition must have been fine tuned to see those who are famished because without missing a beat she instantly answered with “well if you’re really hungery then try...” and the rest was lost I couldn’t really hear her so I’m not too sure what it was that I got. But not only was her intuition spot on her taste in food was amazing. As I finally got home and opened the to go plate I was thrilled to see that it did look like a good amount of food. And not only was it a good amount of food it was a good amount of great food. My stomach was filled, my hunger assuaged, and my self completely satisfied. If you’re ever in question as to what you want feel free to ask this great staff. I blindly trusted them and was not disappointed. So thank you Lauren for the suggestion and thank you Sam for...
Read moreI lived around the corner from Sams on Tiny town for 3 years and went there often. This is not the same food. We ordered to gyro plates which came with a tiny portion of extremely over seasoned and over cooked meat...that could have been the lamb we asked for, but who knows? The “Greek salad” was shredded iceberg with white onions and tomatoes and it came with a random mound of cheddar cheese (where’s the feta, cucumbers this is supposed to be a Greek salad from a Greek restaurant). The cucumber sauce was more of a paste. Small portions of rice that are sold separately, where the other Sams puts an entire bed of rice down with every plate without an extra charge, and this was definitely store bought Mexican rice this was supposed to be saffron rice. Definitely will not be back. It felt like they buy their products at Kroger. Thanks, but I can do...
