Had been wanting to try this place for quite a while, in particular because reviews mentioned that nearly their entire menu can be made gluten free, but was particularly surprised to see that their fried food is also gluten free. I am also dairy free, so am generally not too excited/optimistic when reading things like that as the batters used for frying tend to have dairy in them. I didn’t see anything in the menu or the reviews mentioning whether the fried food is dairy free. When we arrived I asked the waiter if the fish and chips contained dairy and he checked with the kitchen who informed him that they do not–yay! (I did not verify whether the batter for the other fried items was dairy free). I went ahead and ordered the fish and chips. When it came out, it came out with ketchup rather than the tarter sauce or aioli that I expected. When I asked the server, he mentioned that this was because the sauces had dairy so he requested that it not be put on the plate. I was very impressed by his thoughtfulness. The fried fish was good, although it was missing that sauce to take it to the next level. My partner ordered the tortellini and he loved it. Overall, the experience was very positive, in particular as relates to my food restrictions, and although pricey, we would likely come again.

One word: DECEIVING! It looks like a cute little restaurant tucked away in a bustling part of Clayton. A nice patio area outside with an equally quaint inside. The decorations and lighting are great for a date night, which happened to be exactly the occasion I went there for. Alejandro, our server, was hilarious and personable. We had such a great experience talking to him. My girlfriend ordered some mint, tequila based drink (I don’t drink so I don’t remember the name). It came in a very pretty glass and she said it tasted really good. Here comes the best part. We ordered Emily’s Apple Harvest Salad and the Blackened Salmon Salad and split the Spicy Shrimp Diablo Pasta (something like that). The salmon was some of the best tasting salmon I’ve had in my life. I loved my salad, too and the pasta was a great way to finish the evening. The portions were large and filling and we definitely could have left some for a second meal, but it was so good we chose not to :) I paid (obviously) and I was expecting to have a hole in my wallet, but given we got 3 entrees and a drink, it was very very cheap given the quality.

Don’t waste your time if you’re going for a celebration with a group.

We (8 of us) had a 6pm reservation, ordered drinks, appetizers, more drinks, food, and more drinks. Not once were we told there was a party after us. Not once did we stop order and sit while sipping on water. But we did bring a cake for a birthday celebration (the restaurant brought us a knife and plates) and ordered more drinks to enjoy with it. Not 10 minutes after the cake was out (and not yet cut) and drinks were served did the manager RUDELY come over and tell us that they needed us gone 20 min ago. Again, never was this said before our last drink order or when we made the reservation. Yet, we were expected to pack the uncut cake back up, not finish our overpriced drinks and vacate the table. Additionally, the waiting party made comments to us and were downright nasty about us leaving. Two more times (still finishing drinks) we were asked when we were leaving. Mind you, our bill was over $600. Our poor waitress didn’t even know the manager approached us and I’m sure would have been happy to keep increasing our tab.

In summary, the people were rude and the food wasn’t even that great. We will never return and I will dissuade everyone I...

Went for brunch. Glad we did, the food was excellent! Started with the BLT deviled eggs. Wow! What an awesome recipe with a nice balance of textures and full of flavor. We shared one and took the rest home for an afternoon snack and they traveled extremely well. I had the breakfast tacos; egg scramble, salsa, pulled pork, cilantro on a maize, street taco. 3 per order. The taste was well balanced and the pork added a nice, almost sweet surprise. 3 is too many so I took one home; this also traveled well, to my surprise. My wife had the Crab Benedict. It was HUGE. The poached eggs were actually overcooked so we had to send it back. Our server was very apologetic and returned rather quickly with a new order and let us know the dish would be comp'd. Bonus! This time when my wife cut into the eggs, a beautiful flowers of yolk-lava poured out of the egg volcano and smothered the holindaise to add that nice bright color of the yolk to the golden yellow of the sauce. Her dish was brilliant: eggs perfect; crab cake, amazing: English muffin, fluffy. Yup, not sure where the muffins come from but they were holy cow delicious. The atmosphere was light and the se vice was top notch. We will absolutely be...
