IHOP — Restaurant in Clear Lake Shores

Steer clear of this IHOP location.

IHOP is normally my favorite place to go for breakfast, brunch, and late night. I'm from the north side of town down here on vacation with my kids. We stopped in for brunch on a Saturday at 11:45. At first everything was fine, the restaurant was clean, it wasn't super super busy, we were able to request to sit on the side of the restaurant where we parked, and the waitress was nice.

Unfortunately I can't say that the kitchen staff cares much about the quality of the food though, because I had to send back my sausage since it was cold, and when they brought it back it was the same sausage, only a little bit more hot like they threw it in the microwave. Problem is, my hash browns were on the same plate and they got super hot so I couldn't eat them, and the sausage still wasn't hot. So I sent it back a second time and asked them to remake it.

Instead they took the sausage off my plate, heated it on the grill to brown it up more and then sent it back out. I know this because I had taken a small bite off one of them and they sent back out the same pieces of sausage, meaning that they now need to clean their whole...

I always go to this IHOP with friends and family but today when I went it was completely horrible. I wanted to try the new burrito they have out and it comes with a sauce inside, I simply ask my server what kind of sauce it is and he proceeds to just tell me TO READ THE MENU that he doesn’t know. I was almost in disbelief he said that to me. I proceeded to say it doesn’t tell me what kind of sauce it is and he says he doesn’t know. Ok cool just put it on the side. Then I asked my server if the hash browns come inside the burrito or only on the side, HE TELLS ME TO JUST READ THE MENU AGAIN. It does not tell you. My server was very disrespectful and rude the whole time and was clueless, he’s not even new I have seen him multiple times. My burrito came out and there was a black hair on top of it, I proceeded to just brush it off then half way through there’s ANOTHER black hair inside my burrito I was eating. I told my server and he rudely goes like “I’ll get the manager”, manger comes over and she was very friendly and offered me something else and takes off my meal. I don’t know my servers name but it was a black male with glasses and is on...

We were renting a condo in Kemah for the weekend. We went to the IHOP because it was close. We didn't expect much with it two blocks from a tourist locale, but we were wrong. I was desperately in need of coffee and the waitress who had just finished cashing out a customer could have easily told me someone would be right with me. But she didn't. She happily brought us two coffees while we perused the menu to make a to go order.

Then the manager took our to go order. He was in very good spirits, despite it being seven AM and verified he got our order right before placing it. Ten minutes later, our food was ready to go, complete with "these are all for kids" syrup quantities and cutlery. They refilled our to go coffees and wished us a great day.

All of the food was well done. The pancakes are a bit smaller than what I've typically seen at IHOP, but the quality and service was much better than what I've typically seen at IHOP as well.
