It's Just Wings — Restaurant in Clear Lake Shores

"It's Just Wings" was a disappointment for several reasons. It operates out of a Chili's but it's not Chili's. Which makes online only ordering confusing. It doesn't have to be. A little internet modification on the websites could clear this up. You can only order online. Not on the phone. For some reasons it was easy for us to get confused ordering. We couldn't tell what came with it so ordering sauce on the side meant adding all the sauces and dips ala carte. The options are categorized into combos and party trays. The combos come with fries, one ranch, one sauce but so do the "just wings." So by ordering the same combo for two people, we ended up overloading on extras just trying to get the same amount of sauce and ranch for each. Then the automatic tip. You order online, drive to pick it up, they bring you a sack. 15%. It's a tip not a commission. I know everyone in food service hates me for saying that. Until they get charged at a drive through. It's fast food coming out the back door of a "another" restaurant. The bone in wings tasted noticeably freezer burned as well as being dry and over fried. It gave them a fishy taste. The boneless covered in sauce were also fishy. My kid said so. It's hard to mess up curly fries, so let's say nothing needed salt. So I pretended I was enjoying chicken jerky. The jalapeno cilantro sauce wasn't bad. No celery. We'd have done much better driving through Chick fil a or Whataburger without the $11.00 add on. So dispointing, never doing it again. Food was on time and came out to the car, but that's the only good thing. Ordered 60 wings in 6 different styles and flavors, only the boneless naked and garpar boneless were as good as the fries, the rest was bad. Didn't receive the extra sauces we paid for, which was a bummer with the naked wings. The sauced boneless were not nearly as flavorful as one would expect. The Cajun dry boneless were barely distinguishable from the naked, both visually and taste. Some hot spots, but overall skimpy on rub. The two smoked wing orders were the worst. both naked and sauced were charred to 40 to 60% of the surface was black, and all the insides dry. What a huge let down. Get your wing fix...

We have ordered a few times before but this time we couldn’t even eat the fries bc they were so salty it was disgusting and the plain boneless wings were like rubber.
