Before I launch into my review of my fourth frozen custard joint, I want to invite you once again to read my review of Andy’s Frozen Custard for a brief history of the rise and fall of frozen yogurt and exactly what frozen custard is as it makes it’s rise through the ranks of frozen treats.

As far as Abbott’s is concerned, the bottom line is this: they make a positively superior product in every way. The texture, consistency, and flavor of Abbott’s Frozen Custard is second to none. I have ordered vanilla at all of the frozen custard places I have visited, but I have also sampled the chocolate, and Abbott’s chocolate is the best of all of them. That is the case for me because I don’t like an overwhelming amount of chocolate flavor, for it sometimes seems artificially overdone. I found Abbott’s to be perfect. The vanilla was excellent as well. In addition, Abbott’s makes a homemade waffle cone, which really makes a difference—fresh, crispy, malty—and it tips the scales in Abbott’s favor as far as the best frozen custard I have run across so far.

Also sporting more flavors than other places, the Abbott’s in Clemmons is in a really nice location and has some outdoor seating in a new...

I discovered Abbott's while searching for an ice cream birthday cake for our daughter. Abbott's is a step above an ice cream parlor offering ridiculously rich frozen custard in cups, cones, sundaes, splits, milkshakes, flurries, floats, cakes, and pies. The novelties include chip and Oreo wheels, nutty dips, frozen bananas, and their famous turtle. The line was longish due to each order was custom created. At the time there was just one employee manning the store, she gave each customer her full attention, was efficient and gracious. No one minded the little extra time in line. And in the future, I won't either - this stuff is amazing?! I opted for the peanut butter cup pie oppose to a cake as our whole family are big PB cup fans. I briefly questioned size vs price but soon realized the value. It was so packed with decadent rich (x 2) delights, one's system can only handle tiny sliver slices at a time. This pie is easily on our top 10 list and it will be on yours as well! *photo doesn't do it justice but...

This place was ok. They do have a lot if flavors that looked pretty goood. I ordered the cinnamon custerd. I was expecting it to be cinnamon-y, but it was just cinnamon toast crunch cereal. Now, that is not necessarily bad, but it could have been better. I think that a customer is supposed to order a custerd un a cine with a million toppings and other stuff, so I might have not bee receiving the full product. However, if the base is not good, the topping won't help. They did not have any vegan options, but that was not a surprise. The staff was very nice. I would recommend this place for a group with little kids, but if adults are eating, this might not be the best pick. The menu is more geared towards a customer who would order topping and other stuff. Also, if you want to get something that won't make you fell wildly unhealthy , your options are limited. I give this...

The custard here is so delicious and creamy! You can order scoops of custard, sundaes, milkshakes, or flurries with their classic vanilla, chocolate, chocolate almond, and cookies & cream! They also post on Facebook what their daily custard flavor is. I saw they had maple walnut and was excited to try it! The maple walnut was tasty, with a nice maple flavor and a few crunchy walnuts. They also had vanilla caramel cookie dough; the vanilla base is a really good base, but no real caramel to speak of and there could have been more chunks of cookie dough. I will definitely return, and will probably try one of their flurries next time!

This was our first time there today. I always wait after a place opens to let it calm down a little bit. The cashier was so nice and so helpful. She shared all the toppings choice for my son to decide. He got to draw on the chalkboard which he liked to do. We'll definitely be back. I read some of the previous reviews, our custard didn't melt or anything like that. Everything was perfect and service was awesome! 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
