For better or worse I consider myself spoiled by being able to travel across the country.. without naming names it's put me in a position where every other bagel shop in NE Ohio has been in my experience over hyped and underwhelming in quality..
While others definitely beat an Einstens or a Breugers they simply aren't on the level as the top tier bagel shops across the country..
I was happily surprised when visiting Nubeigel this morning.. it can hang with the big boys nationally and I know it's subjective but if my taste and personal preferences matter it's a considerable step up in quality compared to any other so called "top bagel shops" I have been disappointed in since moving back to NE Ohio..
If we're talking "top tier bagels" I simply haven't visited any shops in Ohio besides Nubeigel that can hang..
I am not saying that to be nice or market for them..
Additionally I eat fish but avoid all dairy for religious reasons.. being able to put vegan cream cheese on Lox bagel was really appreciated..
I won't go anywhere else from now on.. one and done they earned that.. now I can go somewhere really good for bagels without worrying about my dietary obligations while not being disappointed after being spoiled elsewhere by places that repeatedly lap anything else being...
Read moreLast summer and fall I would sometimes go to nubeigel 5 times a week. I haven’t been in a while because I moved across the city but this place still has a huge piece of my heart. I always got the sesame bagel with the harissa schemer and being so thrilled when the people working there started to recognize me. Best bagels best employees best schemers dont get me started. This place is a blessing to the Cedar Lee neighborhood and everyone who lives near should be honored.
Last summer I had just graduated college and every day for a good few months I was searching and applying for jobs, I was hard not to get discouraged and upset after a while of only getting bad news- it was literally nubeigel that got me out of bed and dressed some mornings. I lived 3 minutes down the street and it became a a routine I could hold onto and something I could look forward to every day. Im employed now and thinking retrospectively over the past year and really hope that this store gets the love and appreciation it deserves.

Crust: 5/5 - A bagel with a great crust is a hallmark of an authentic bagel, and it should have a crispy, caramelized exterior with a chewy, soft interior. This fit the bill perfectly.
Interior: 5/5 - the interior of the bagel was soft and fluffy, in the classic bagel style. Not too dense, not too airy. Just right.
Flavor: 5/5 - a very tasty bagel, considering the totality of my meal, which did include a coffee and shmear on the bagel itself.
Shmear:
They have an amazing assortment. Tase incredible. I try a different one each time, but love the spicy kimchi, and kalamata olive.
Coffee was excellent.
Great ambiance, with good...
