We recently tried four different cupcake flavors from The Stone Oven Bakery, and overall, it was a delightful experience.
The Peanut Butter and Jelly cupcake was decadent, with a well-balanced flavor profile. The richness of the peanut butter paired beautifully with the fruity sweetness of the jelly, and the cake itself was wonderfully moist.
The Cookies and Cream cupcake was another standout. The cake was moist, and the addition of an Oreo cookie on top was a nice touch, adding both texture and extra flavor.
The Bananas Foster cupcake, however, didn’t quite wow me. While it was enjoyable, it lacked the boldness I expected from such a classic dessert-inspired flavor.
The Red Velvet cupcake was my personal favorite. It was packed with flavor, and the cream cheese frosting was some of the best I’ve ever had—smooth, tangy, and perfectly complementing the cake.
Beyond the cupcakes, the delivery experience was excellent. They delivered straight to my job, and the delivery person was kind, talkative, and very upbeat, making the experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, The Stone Oven Bakery offers a solid selection of cupcakes with standout flavors and great service. I’d definitely order...
Read moreSandwiches & some baked goods are fine, but not great. However, the major reason I do not recommend going to the Cld Hts location, (but it also may be the policy at Woodmere too?) is at the register they have a small sign (bet few ppl even notice) that they charge an additional 10% service fee for eat-in orders!!!! That’s a huge up charge & never have seen anything like this before. Is this even legal? I thought that the price on the menu should be the price, period. Seems like a bait and switch to me. And exactly what service are we getting when u r not waited on?! You have to stand in line to order food, fetch ur food when ready, get your own water, silverware, napkins, condiments AND bus your own table!!! And on weekends, tack on waiting around for a table & navigating to that table with lots of ppl around while carrying hot coffee and food. So why the 10% fee — sign doesn’t say. I used to like this place, but no more. If they want to raise their prices 10%, then do it so all can see and not bury it. Gotta think ppl don’t realize it, otherwise it’s baffling why ppl would put up with all this nonsense...
Read moreMy grandkids and I eat lunch at Stone Oven Bakery on Lee road often. And while the quality of everything is delicious, the last three times I noticed a few changes...primarily the size of the portions for the cost of the food items. Mostly referring to the sandwiches - specifically the tuna sandwiches. The portions or scoops of tuna are really small. The side of chips have been measly also. This past Sunday - 8 of my family members were there - and everyone's sandwich - whether tuna or not was on the small size. Even the bread for the sandwiches was small. Also - why do they have 8 loaves of sourdough available to purchase - but won't use them to make a sandwich at 1:00pm in the afternoon? Only had two choices - multi grain and sciciliano - which by the time they got to my order, they only had multi grain - so I had to buy a loaf of sourdough. For 3 sandwiches, and one soup, and the loaf of sourdough - it was $33.00. We'll still go there - because my grandkids love it there - but not so often anymore. It's too expensive for the small...
