Coquette Pâtisserie — Restaurant in Cleveland

Very disappointed by the dessert, especially the macarons. The surface of the macarons was rough, and one of the two that I got was crunchy like a biscuit. I've never had macarons so inconsistent.

The "Opera" - which is basically tiramisu but with a fancy name that the owner so insists - does not live up to such pride. The spongecake was crumbly, as if it had been sitting in the fridge for a while. The chocolate ganache is waxy, which makes me wonder what kind of generic ganache they used or even if they made from scratch, if they used candy melts, not real chocolate.

The place has a decent interior, which distracts people from the quality of the dessert. From the previous comments, the owner seems to be too prideful to admit that the desserts here are /objectively/ bad and would not sell anywhere else other than in Cleveland. It's a mystery to me how this place is still in business.

On another note, I didn't have to try the cheesecake - or if you would, gâteau au fromage - to know that the owner of Coquette is definitely saltier than...

I never knew that anyone could ever instill the feeling of a Tom Jones concert into a pastry, but let me tell you, it is being done here.

I spent three hours at the paris airport once, so believe me when I tell you that this place makes the real deal when it comes to pastries (or as the french say, pastries, but with an accent). The staff was wonderful and made a perfect milk and mezcal (my favorite cocktail). The only downside is that they don’t have any spoiled wine, as I don’t drink wine that is devoid of acetic acid. Other than that, I was truly a fan of everything they had.

I love Macarons. So when I read the menu for this establishment, I was overwhelmed. I reviewed the menu several times the night before so I'd have an idea of what I wanted when I arrived. It is easy to find using Google Maps. When we walked it, my heart sank...there were only three flavors available...three. If their website states anything about limited availability, I missed it.
