Cleveland is not a great place for Indian food, so our options were restricted, to begin with. Given that this restaurant had four stars, and since it was one of the few dine-in places for Indian, we decided to give it a shot. I generally do not leave reviews but our experience was so bad, I had to write my feedback to warn others. We ordered a plate of samosas and a sabzi dish, apart from naan. The samosas came to us hot; when I broke it open to take a bite, imagine our shock to see a big spoonful of oil gushing on the plate straight from the middle of the samosa. I was horrified for a moment. The plate was filled with oil, which I showed to the waiter. He just looked puzzled and took away the oily plate. W did not ask for another plate of samosa. The sabzi - veg jalfrezi did not taste right either. We couldn't say what was amiss, but the masalas were not Indian. The tomato soup we ordered before was off in its taste as well. Finally, we ordered some yogurt to eat as curd rice. The waiter informed us that there was no yogurt and brought raita instead, which was unbearably salty and sour at once. When we told the waiter, we couldn't have it, he took it away, and the very next minute brought a big bowl of yogurt, saying he didn't know they actually had it. This curd was sour and we were told it was two days old. To offset the sourness, we requested for some pickle.
The bill came and we were charged for everything, including for the samosas we left uneaten on the plate, AND $2 for the pickle! The waiter or the owners did not have the courage to ask us how the food was when we were having it, but did ask us when we were leaving. We gave our honest feedback to them. The toilets are clean - that's all I give them credit for. Otherwise, this place does no credit to Indian food....
Read moreWe were in Cleveland, and looked for somewhere different to have our lunch. We always like to find a different place every time we visit and my husband chose Indian. Now, we really love the Indian restaurant in Niles and have found none other that was even close. In fact, we usually don't go to Indian anywhere else because we'll be disappointed. Well, this place had no room to sit at first, and was filled with Indian people very much enjoying their food which was a great sign, plus they had a wonderful looking lunch buffet setup so we stayed, and ate from the buffet and tried various things they had and while not everything was the same is where we like to go, they have a few things that I liked even better. They had a dish that had goat and chicken that was fantastic other than it had bones in it and by bones I mean big bones and lots of them. Their carrot pudding was out of this world and I wish I had more. They had an amazing chai tea and the tandoori chicken was fantastic as well. The staff was friendly. Prices weren't bad, and I could be persuaded to go back easily. The only downfall was that you had to park a block away in a gross little alley beside a trash dumpster and walk on garbage , but then finally you got to the restaurant. It's...
Read moreThis is a nice restaurant. I went here and was satisfied with my experience. I ordered the spicy goat biryani, and it can be ordered as mild, medium, spicy, or Indian spicy. The goat biryani tasted pretty good, but it wasn’t as spicy as I thought it would be. The goat tasted pretty good and some pieces had a couple of bones in it, which I was ok with. The person I was with ordered the mild chicken curry, which tasted very good. The curry sauce was delectable, and the chicken itself was delicious as well. The service at this restaurant was an example of what should be done at every restaurant; when I walked in the waiter overseeing the restaurant’s eight or so tables asked me if I was dining in or getting takeout. Then he pointed to a booth and asked if it was good. After that I sat down, he gave me a menu, gave me time to look, came back, took my order, gave me my food, and didn’t come back until I was ready to pay. He then brought out a credit card machine to me to pay with. This restaurant also takes Google and Apple Pay. I gave this restaurant five stars because it has good food and I received good service. If I came again I’d probably get curry or something else instead of biryani, and I’d get Indian spicy level food instead of just...
