Disappointing and Unwelcoming Experience
I visited Edison’s Pub on the evening of September 21st, 2024, around 4:30 p.m., with my boyfriend, and we were treated extremely poorly. When I went up to the bar to ask for a water with lemon and inquire about the pool table, the bartender responded with an attitude. She said it was $1.50 to play, so I handed her a $10 bill and asked for change for the pool table. She rolled her eyes and asked if I was ordering anything else. I politely said no and immediately felt uncomfortable and sad, unsure of what I did wrong to receive such a reaction.
Then, the bartender turned around and asked if I had come in with a child, which I hadn’t, and I told her so. She rolled her eyes at me again and continued giving short, dismissive answers, making me feel very out of place. I went back to the pool table and told my boyfriend about the encounter. I felt so uncomfortable that I decided I didn’t want to return to the bar to order any drinks.
When we started playing pool, we realized the table was missing four balls, and there was no triangle to set up the game properly. My boyfriend went to the bar to get a beer, but she refused to serve him until I came up to show my ID, even though he explained that the beer was for him. Strangely, we saw others, including someone with a child, get served without having to show anyone else's ID.
It wasn't just us—this bartender was also rude to a group of guys who were about to sit down. The entire experience made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. We won’t be returning to Edison’s Pub anytime soon, which is disappointing because I’ve always enjoyed bringing friends to Tremont to show them a good time. We didn’t deserve to be treated with such animosity...
Read moreI am a long time fan of Edison's. I've consistently told people that Edison's is the best pizza in Cleveland and not to be missed by travelers. Well, it seems that the pizza has now changed hands and the previous, really good pizza has been replaced by a thin, flimsy, lackluster pizza recipe. I ordered the Tesla's revenge which had canned pineapple and jarred jalapenos instead of fresh. The crust was far too chewy for how thin it was. They used to give free honey packets for you to dip your crust in or drizzle over your pizza, but now they upcharge you for "hot" honey instead of just regular. Granted, I do like spicy honey, but this is a departure from what they're known for. My wife said she would have rather had gas station cardboard-crust pizza than this tragedy they sold us for a premium pizza price. This is literally a step below fast food pizza like Marco's and Papa Johns. I can't believe how disappointed I am and I guess I'll just have to go over to Edison's Pizza Kitchen for a tasty pie now. Maybe I'll bring it in to sit and enjoy a good beer inthe awesome atmosphere of Edison's Pub. Maybe they won't like that, but frankly, what they've done with this pizza compared to how it used to be is insulting. They previous pizza was always a good, traditional crust, loaded HEAVY with fresh toppings and it took awhile to cook because it was a quality pizza. This new recipe is a lackluster follow up. Shame on them for cutting quality just to try to hurry up the cooking process to sell more pizzas. Quality is always greater than quantity. We have enough fast food pizza in the area that is cheaper. Don't bother. Just get a beer, enjoy a chat with the awesome bartenders and eat...
Read moreI hadn't been here in years, so I wanted to revisit it when my friends wanted to meet up in Tremont last night.
It's a very cool, cozy little place. Some may find it odd, but ordering pizza at the window is kind of fun. You also can't beat free popcorn for snacking while waiting for your food.
I opted for 2 pepperoni pizza slices ($4 each). Took about 6-7 minutes. they are very generous with their toppings. My goodness, I had never seen so much pepperoni on a slice of pizza! They were delicious little crispy morsels floating on a bed of gooey hot cheese. I also got to try some of their bbq wings.
Overall it's a pretty solid pizza joint. The slices were a little greasy for my taste, but still good. It can get a little messy, which honestly does not bother me. Next time I might just order one slice. The wings were a good size. Bbq sauce tasted like pretty standard fare, had a little spice to it.
Not labeled as my favorite pizza place, but still a nice little establishment. A solid joint that deserves our patronage over your typical chain pizza franchises, for sure. Go...
