We fully support EDWINS' mission, we moved here a year ago, we had dined at EDWINS French restaurants 3 times including a special event, we had great experiences. This was our 1st time trying brunch at EDWINS TOO. We are very sad to have to write this review, for shockingly bad experience with food and service. 1) We ordered the "Top Shelf Coffee", it was served at room temperature. Bloody Mary tasted like tomato juice. 2) We waited 1 hr for our food, the head server did come to apologize for the delay saying that the chef just got here, 1 hour after they opened. Three out of four dishes were big disappointments. It is not average but it's way below standard, not what I expect from EDWINS and for what they are charging. a) The Croque Madame, a classic French dish, was delivered as dried two pieces white thick toast, not seared, no color, tiny bit of cheese and not melted. When questioned, the expeditor lady in the kitchen insisted that's how Croque Madame is. We ate food around the world, we know what a Croque Madame should be. I am sad to see that is how they trained their trainees to make a Croque Madame. The dish was returned, they told us they will re-fire but it will still be the same. They never brought a new dish back, so we cancelled that dish, however it still showed on our check, we had to once again told them what happened, then they took that dish off. b) Eggs Benedict with cured salmon, which they charged extra $5 for the salmon, so it was a $22 Eggs Benedict. The salmon looks pale, and it taste like it has turned. We didn't want to return another dish, so our friend just ate one egg, that's it. c) Chicken and Waffle - the waffle was soft and pale, not cooked enough, piled with soggy chopped up vinegary things (thought it was onions, but was later told it was apple.) Chicken wings had no seasoning and dried. Barely ate any. d) 4th dish was Shrimp & Grits, that was decent. I was sitting at the table where I can see the open kitchen, I was sure then it was the kitchen expeditor lady's issue. Unfortunately, we didn't take any pictures because we were just too shocked reacting to the food and the attitude. After we signed our check, Chef Chrostowski came by our table and asked how's the meal. We gave our honest feedback, all he said was "Sorry about the Croque Madame, oh the salmon is not right? I will go to kitchen to taste it. Oh, the waffle is soggy?" That's all, no sincere acceptance of feedbacks from customers. We...
Read moreI am not from Cleveland, I seen great reviews for this restaurant but I wouldn’t recommend this to my WORST ENEMY!! Me and my partner were seated and it was beautiful nice music and the server was nice. Upon seating the server poured us a glass of water and I seen the glasses were dirty, which I understand things happen we kindly set our waters aside and didn’t drink out of them once we placed the order in for the food we were going to ask for replacement glasses. While waiting I saw one of the workers place her hands in the bowl of potato’s that were COOKED and finger the food without gloves and serve the food to people in front of me. I was IMMEDIATELY DISGUSTED. Come to find out it was the manager!!!! After she did all of this she wiped her hands on her pants as if she was a 2 year old! Picked up her phone placed her hands in her hair and wipe her hands on her blazer before placing her hands back in someone else’s order. I gladly talked to the server about our experience the manager overheard and attempted to pretend as if it didn’t happen. I was tempted to take pictures and videos to warn people about how unsanitary this restaurant is but I’m sure people from Cleveland seen this and we’re ok with it because she prepared the food right in front of me! I will never forget this experience nor want to go through it again....
Read moreWas visiting Family in Cleveland for the holiday . Decided to stop here for brunch the day after thanksgiving, with my Mom and Grandma.( 70+). We were seated by the door and so every time the door would open the cold breeze would linger. My mom and GMA complained they were too cold. Well we decided to get up and move. Meanwhile , it was every bit of 10ppl in total within the environment. So there was plenty of of open seating . One of the waitresses walked over and said verbatim “aht aht y’all can’t move.” I responded ; my mom and GMA is cold due to the breeze lingering from the door. The waitress then said “but y’all can’t move because we’re in zones.” Understandable, However at this point the waitress did not receive a solution, recommendation or accommodation. It was literally 10ppl or less within the entire environment. if I am informing you about the issue and as to why we moved , there shouldn’t have been too much back and forth. We should’ve been accommodated and placed away from the door. Regardless of zoning . The customer service was extremely poor and for that reason we left and went somewhere else. I will never patronize a place that is unwelcoming. BAD...
