My children and I were stranded in Cleveland right by Shmoes tavern. We hadn't eaten all day We are from Pittsburgh and we have been here since the butt crack of dawn trying to get my daughter enrolled in a college program up here. Moe's was close and they serve food so I called them and asked if they do any charity work and the gentleman said yes here and there so I asked him if his restaurant or whoever owns it would help me and my children out by maybe giving us a few sandwiches even cold cuts just so we had at least a little something to eat... no money, alcohol or anything just a few sandwiches for me and my children and he told me no that they couldn't give us anything at all and he then hung up on me. I refuse to judge Cleveland by this one person who couldn't see past helping a mother and her two children get just a little something to eat even a peanut butter bread to last until we got back to Pittsburgh but now we have to use the 12 dollars we have left for gas to try and get home because we can't afford it monetarily and apparently Moe's can't...

It took me 2 evenings to write this review. After much discussion with the bartender (Geoff, he might be a manager, but he also works at Hofbräuhaus) I've decided to give them 5 stars. Geoff didn't make me change my review....(wink wink)....upon reflection of my experience, I will say Moe's Tavern is an establishment that has employees that go above and beyond expectation to ENSURE that their reviews are always positive. Hypothetically, they may even track you down at another restaurant and encourage you to change your reviews. Strictly hypothetically of course.

Kudos Geoff. You care about your work and I applaud you. Thanks for accommodating us out of towners when you were closing, being a goos sport, and for helping to make my experience in Cleveland memorable.

P.S. Cleveland is really...

Awesome place! My wife and I had time to spare before seeing a musical at Playhouse Square. We had parking passes in a small lot across the street from Moe's and had never been there before and never heard of it. Took the chance to go in and get a drink and some appetizers before the show. What great luck was that! It has such a great atmosphere and is very customer friendly. We sat at the bar next to a group of guys that were going to the Brown's game that entertained us while we were there with their stories of great adventures. The bartender was the owner's wife, who greeted us when we entered the place with an electric personality. In such a short time, it was a very enjoyable experience. Can't wait to get back! Terry and...

I found this place conveniently located a block from the Greyhound Bus Station. I had a half hour before my trip began and was starving. I called in my order over the phone, which was definitely a PLUS+. My order was ready very quickly (12 minutes) as I got the fish sandwich and fries. I spent $14 and left a $3 tip for my to-go order. The waffle fries were decent, but the fish sandwich was horrendous. They do have a few non-alcoholic choices, I got the ginger beer. The soda was tasty, but they do not have to-go cups with lids, so beware. In all, I am grateful for Moe's and happy to give them another visit when I'm back in Cleveland as The Simpsons was one of my favorite childhood cartoons!

Found this gem of a bar spontaneously after a concert at the nearby Playhouse Square. This venue has a long and rich history, which the owner will kindly tell you about. This place was the inspiration for the Simpsons character Moe who is the bartender at Homer's favorite bar. There's a Simpsons character painted on the brick inside, a bowling game, Edison string lights, and nice decor. Support this local establishment. Nice beer selection too! We met a beloved local, Les the Beer Guy, who has his own brew on tap at Moe's.

Came in looking for food but the menu needs more variety. Place was hot too on a warm summer night. Needed stronger AC and the door staying open probably didn't help. Worse part is with that front door open, you can smell the smoke of people smoking right out front. Unappealing to eat while smelling cigarette smoke in an under cooled environment. They should keep that door closed and tell people they can't smoke right in front.
