My husband and I decided to try this place for our first date night since becoming parents. We stalked their Instagram and were amazed at how good the food looked. Well our reality was TERRIBLE.This goes down in history as THE worst restaraunt/bar/grill experience of my adulthood. Where so I start? 1st, the love music (jazz) was mediocre. They had an older group playing that looked like they stepped out of a cadilac from Mississippi in 1978 with a young female drummer wedged in the group. She was good but the rest was "meh" but it was music so we didn't care too much. My husband drinks wine only. Well on a Sunday with an advertised live band, they had ONE, yes ONE small (personal) bottle of lambrusco which is one glass. My lemon drop was decent but if your looking for wine don't go here. We order two apps and two entres. The food took forever to be delivered to our table. The waitress brings the food out in Styrofoam and plastic utensils. I asked and this is how they present their food all the time. I was told by the waitress because they won't have to do dishes. We spent over 100.00 + on food, WHY THE HECK would a patron want to eat off of Styrofoam? So, I ordered a NY strip steak with Mac/cheese, and greens. My husband ordered turkey ribs and same sides. My husband said his turkey ribs were good. This steak was disgusting- no seasoning, leather like, fatty and all around bad cut and didn't seem fresh in all honesty. I have to mention that they gave me plastic utensils to cut the leather like steak. I didn't want to be the annoying customer but I had to approach the register and ask for REAL silverware for my STEAK. The hostess/Kitchen manager goes in the back for several minutes and finally comes out with a fork and butter knife that is dripping wet. I ask for them to ve dried off. Do you know this woman dried the silverware off on a towel that was sitting on the table by the kitchen/register? I couldn't believe it. I then make a look of disgust and ask for her to not wipe it off on a towel that has been sitting out and obviously used for God knows what. She states that she keeps that area clean and also ensures that the kitchen/cooking area is kept clean. Be mindful that I can see the cooking area as it connected to the register area and only covered by a low wall. I could see the entire grill/cooking area and it did not look sanitary at all. I ask for a diff set of silverware and she brings it out dripping wet and explains she used the steamer and that's why it's wet. The hostess then tells the owner that I am good and didn't need anything else and that I just didn't want my silverware wiped off. The owner looks at my face and offers me a napkin. He could see that this person was not being professional or upholding quality customer service. He talked to her in the back for that. I don't even want to know who was eating off of that silverware before she "sterilized it". The cooks, hostess and waitresses all looked like they had recently been released from the halfway house or incarceration which is fine but please train them on how to show up to work and interact with customers. None of the cooks had hair nets on and were touching non food items in the kitchen while resuming cooking duties without washing hands. Our waitress did her best but again, no waitress training what so ever. I asked for a straw and she brings me a stress in her bare two fingers-no napkin. I have two pictures of the food that i was hoping to post but google wont let me. When you imagine a shrimp basket, you imagine fried shrimp right? Nope, we paid for little frozen shrimp with no seasoning and barely coated in cornmeal that you would use to fry fish in. I couldn't belive it CORNMEAL?!. The salmon bites were just okay, no wow factor at all and likely frozen salmon from aldi's. The shrimp were so tiny, they reminded me of the 5.99 bag of shrimp from Walmart/aldi's. This place has got to be a front for drugs or is what the owner is washing his money through because ain't no way this is a...
Read moreI’m not supporting a business where the owner gets upset at women for making them uncomfortable.
Bear with me and let me explain.
Today after I had just gotten off work I’m walking to my car. The lot I park in is connected to an isolated alleyway (which is the fastest way to get there). This alley happens to be behind Tailgate. I am walking and on the phone with headphones on (one ear off) down the alley, I see and hear that a car is driving behind me. The alley is small so I figured I was in the way. I move over to the side so the car can pass. The car then begins to slow down and drive next to me. Mind you I am by myself, and do not know this person or their intentions, so I put my guard up. I hear a man yelling out of his car saying hello to get my attention. I do not know this man. I do not know if he’s the only one in his car (a large silver SUV btw) And I am by myself. So I stop and quickly say I’m sorry but I’m not interested. The man immediately gets defensive and with an attitude, says he’s the owner of tailgate and is trying to see if I want to go to his bar. I said ok well I don’t know you. He pulls his arm out with a card. Again I do not know his intentions nor do I know him. So a stranger trying to get me to get closer to his car after I say I’m not interested raises some flags. I quickly grab the card, and say thank you and have a good night. He gets irritated with me saying he’s the owner of tailgate the bar right there and points to it. I say ok and keep walking, he moves up and says “I was just being nice, weirdo”. And goes to park behind the bar.
So the owner of this establishment is comfortable following a woman alone in an alley in his car, shouting at her, trying to get her to come closer to his car despite her being visibly uncomfortable, saying she’s not interested, and clearly speaking on the phone, and then insulting her for not wanting to speak with him because of how many red flags the situation brings.
I genuinely hope that no one promotes anyone comfortable exhibiting this weird and abnormal behavior and having terrible promotional...
Read moreAvoid this place. We went on a Thursday evening- there was no one to meet us at the door. The security guard from next door told us to come on in. The bar is at the back of the entrance. We wanted to watch the Cleveland baseball game- the bartender? or whoever, had to get the cook to get the game on. They have 20 beers on tap- all on display- we were told none of them were available- they were all flat. The gut that waited on us- not sure if he was the bartender or not- didn't know what they had to drink- we looked in the glass coolers to pick what we wanted. They had 1 Mikes and 2 rolling rocks- which we ordered. My friend had a Miller Lite. We were the only 4 people in the place. Another couple came in and waited at least 10 minutes just to get waited on. My wife was going to go behind the bar and get them a beer- instead, she went and got the cook to take their drink order. He made them pay before he even served them drinks. One ordered a Miller Lite bottle- when he took it out of the cooler- it had no bottle cap on it- and actually considered serving it to her- but then got her a new one- that was past the expiration date. Not sure what this place is trying to be- but a bar is not one of them. We walked by the place 2 hours later- no one was...
