The library is located in the lower levels of Rhode’s Tower. It closes too early at about 9 or 10 pm in the Fall and Spring, and at about 8 pm Mon-Wed and 6 pm Thur-Fri in the Summer. The quiet areas in the library are not so quiet and the people working there don't care to ask anyone to keep quiet. The elevators are too slow opening up and going up or down. There are vending machines to the west, to the left of the entrance. The vending machines will accept cash and either debit cards, or Viking cards. If the machine does not give you back your change in full or when your purchase stocks you have to contact the number on the machine or go to the cashier in the Main Classroom for refunds if you paid using your university ID.
The air conditioning in there like every other building in the university could be on heating in the fall even in hot days. Noisy library specially the ground floor. The computers’ area is the noisiest when there are classes in the computer labs. The front office at the computers area(left, west, of the library) lost the printer-installment instructions for IOS devices. I was lucky to have already installed the printers; my friends weren't.
Be aware of the walking-dead. Some people just do not pay attention to where they are going and some others leave their backpacks in the walkways. The writing center keeps reserving the tables at the west end of the library ground floor. They do not use most tables. They also mostly let groups set there for long. However, I got asked to leave even though I set by myself most times and I'm very quiet.
You could possibly encounter some creepy people in there. Like the person with a large bag who turns the screen away from the closest to him. If you encounter him do not make eye contact with him. He is paranoid; he kept staring at me for too long(about 5 minutes) at MC building thinking that I have followed him from...
Read moreI give this library three stars because of their inability to clean out the noise pollution in what are targeted as “quiet parts” of the library. There are sections that are known to be noisy or where conversations can take place for group work, and there are sections where there should be very little noise. The computer wing of the library where the writing center is, is suppose to be a very little noise section of the library and I hope as it cracks down to the finishing weeks of the semester it is quiet because so many students are attempting to get work done. This is not the case. I just walked out of the library (4/23/19) really upset because the noise was so loud and none of the staff members were doing anything about it. Instead they were just talking to eachother. I saw many people on their computers looking around acknowledging that it was also too noisy for them. Personally, there is so much on our plates as students in addition the computer area of the library is so important and it is super stressful when we cannot focus on what needs to be done.
There are areas on campus where people can gather together around a computer and talk like in the Student Center. The library is not one of these areas on campus, to my acknowledgement. I just wish the staff would enforce the little noise only rule instead of just letting everyone talk freely in what should be a quieter zone of the library.
Other than that, this library usually has a...
Read moreCSU library is a great place to hangout, study, print and could also do a lot of things. The staff working here is friendly and respectful. Great option for different books and honestly the library is resourceful. Prints and scanner are located on most of the corners. Usually silent on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the library. Never had a bad experience in...
