The Browsing Room Bookstore & Cafe — Restaurant in Cleveland

A very pretty shop, but the food left something to be desired . We contacted the owners to see if they could accommodate a birthday party of 30 for light lunch and beverages. They assured us that they could. Let's just say that what we were told we would get bore little resemblance to what we were served. From a carafe of coffee substituting for lattes , to the absence of anything resembling the promised individual charcuterie boards (4 ritz crackers and a scoop of hummus, no promised chicken skewer for starters) what was served made for a very disappointing celebration. While the owner offered a deep discount it didn't make up for an at best, mediocre experience. Milestone birthdays are one time events. My advice? If you can't do a large event, just say so up front or be honest about what you can do, such as coffee and muffins. We would have understood, and would have left with a much different opinion...

If I could give 10 stars, I would! My siblings and I were struggling to find something to do in Cleveland when we happened across the Browsing Room Bookstore & Cafe. We were struck by the quaint loveliness of the store and ended up leaving with a tote full of wonderful bargain books and trinkets. The co-owner, Jean, is an amazing person steeped in kindness and hospitality; she made us feel very welcome and, after seeing we were a bit down on our luck with things to do, invited us to make ourselves at home and set us up with a tasty hummus charcuterie board and drinks! She allowed my sister to play music over her speakers, went above and beyond by helping us find places we could explore that afternoon, and overall made our experience in Cleveland a million times more exciting and extraordinary. We had a lovely visit to this bookstore, and we plan on stopping by every time we're in the area! Thank you...

My husband and I loved this female owned/ran, independent book store! I'm so glad we came upon it online and stopped in for a trip! Another great Cleveland book shop! The owners are so sweet and truly care so deeply for their adorable book shop. The selection of books was refreshing; my husband especially loved the Cleveland book section. They even have a café with coffee, drinks, baked goods, and food. We had already eaten lunch so we didn't get a chance to indulge but I can tell you the food smelled delicious! The owner informed us that you can rent out their space as well. There's quite a few tables and it could make a great venue for a little baby/bridal shower!
