I gave this place a few shots, and unfortunately I was just not impressed which is a bummer since I love halal food. On the two occasions I went, I got some platters with lamb and chicken. The flavor of the lamb meat was not bad, and I did not get a piece of grizzle. The rice was cooked well and while they could have given me more, the portion was not bad. I liked the amount of white sauce they added, at least they are not shy with those ingredients. I ordered my platter with no salad, just tomato, meat, rice, and beans. I understand this is very particular especially since someone is saying they do not want a salad, but they want tomato. They forgot the tomato and did not really add any extra rice in lue of the salad. I was hoping instead of the greens, they would pack some extra rice and fill up the container, but there was a good amount of empty space in both of them. I feel like while the deal was buy 1 get 1, I paid for 2 platters because it was 20 bucks. They gave me a menu when I left which had the platter listed for 12 bucks; so I really was not getting 2 for 1 lol. My second visit last night was the real let down because my food was near inedible. I tried a few chicken platters with no salad. This time, they packed the order with extra rice, but the meat was just simply poor quality. I understand getting one or two rubbery grizzle pieces, but every other bite ended up being inedible. I had to spit out so much, I began to get scared inbetween bites because I was not sure if I would be getting a piece of rubber or chicken. The real kicker is I had to throw away my food and could not even finish it; that says something because I always finish my food, even food I am not crazy about. I always want to get my money worth even if the meal is poor, but I could not even force myself to finish it. This experience is not one I will be returning to. If you go which I highly recommend skipping, do not order the chicken platter. Both times I went, there were different problems but the second time around really was the final straw for me because I could not eat the food I paid for. I ended up finishing my night with a few bowls of cereal because I was still hungry, but be careful about the chicken. I would have added some pictures, but it would have been gross to show the attempted eaten rubbery bits of chicken so I will spare...
Read moreHonesty is for improvement and I did not come with grand expectations. It's a Halal place, you'd expect quick service and good eats.
48 minutes late on food. Ordered, went in early for order confirmation, waited 25 minutes, wrong food. Waited another 23 minutes, mediocre food. No apologies, no thank you for waiting. It lacks basics and wouldn't do any better if that's how it continues to operate.
There's a significant amount of competitors out there but Shah's doesn't seem like they are in that category with the service and solid eats not meeting to a minimum expectation.
Restaurants have bad days, I can understand, but not understanding the inconvenience on the customer waiting, let alone getting the wrong order after it was confirmed was not quite pleasant.
No need for second visits, cause I think they can improve that service and optimize the experience to be met for new customers in the...
Read moreIt pains me to leave this review as I really like the flavor of shahs and have tried it multiple times wanting to give it the benefit of the doubt. But at this point I just can’t, consistently me and my friends get stomach issues from the food here, flavor is great but the fact it causes issues for all of us and has multiple times now forces me to say avoid this place. If you have a strong stomach you will probably be fine, if you are sensitive I would avoid this place. If it was just me having the issues I wouldn’t have left the review but the fact it’s multiple people and repeat occurrences makes it so I should submit this review. We have never had issues with their competitors like Halal Guys or Blazin...
