My friends and I visited this new location for the first time on Friday 7 July. Once walking into the location, you were met with the greeting of the day (which is a big thing to me). She was very nice, actually pretty nice. The place was really nice and clean and It wasn't super busy at all. We were the largest party in the room totaling 9; this was our friend's 35th birthday and we were like, let the celebration begin. The waitress came over to the table to take drink orders, which didn't take long to get....BUTTTTTTTTT 1 hour later I'm sitting at our table with an empty glass. Even the pitcher of courtesy water was empty. She came back over to take the orders for food, but we weren't ready. In the midst of her asking if we were ready to order, when my friends looked down, the young lady shook her hands at the table like, you want something or not. Definitely the wrong attitude; I just happened to catch it as I was waiting my turn. So, I told her we weren't ready but asked if we could order more drinks. She came back with 2 beers but forgot my Pepsi and the water refills. We ordered our food, which came out really quick. It was good too; there was no complaints at the table about the food. But once again, the table ran out of drinks and in need of refreshing, our waitress was actually sitting down on the other side of the room not attending to us. I walked over to ask for so more drinks, water, and the eggs that I ordered that weren't present with my food. She went to get the eggs and came back to the table swinging them. Why would you ever do anything like that with someone's food they are going to eat? Asking for a friend. Its like you're playing with my food. Not to mention, the table went to the bar to get their own drinks because of how slow she was moving. I mean when you include the tip of 18% (mandatory for large parties) shouldn't we receive at least decent service? This MANDATORY tip allowed her to address us when and how she felt like it, and that is NOT ok. I feel like some of the things we shouldn't have needed to ask her for. And to add insult to injury, crab legs were ordered and it wasn't made known to an additional fee would come with the metal seafood crackers used. Overall, my experience was unsatisfactory. Tell me should I have to chase the waitress to be served? Is that my job? I'm asking for a friend; I am very...
Read moreI visited Crafty Crab in Clinton, MD, on Sunday, February 2, 2025, around 8 PM and placed a “Combine Em’” carryout order, which included headless shrimp, ½ lb of snow crab, corn, potatoes, and broccoli. I was told the wait time would be 15-20 minutes.
When I returned to pick up my order, I checked it and noticed that I had been charged for crawfish instead of snow crab. I immediately informed the cashier, who then called for the manager. After a 10-minute wait, the manager, Ashley, arrived. I explained the issue, and she agreed to correct the order but did not offer an apology. When I asked about compensation for the additional 15-20 minute wait, she smirked and, with an attitude, offered only a 10% discount. Her demeanor was dismissive and unsympathetic, which I found more disappointing than the mistake itself.
To add to the poor experience, I noticed that employees had their personal belongings—coats, purses, and drinks—on tables in the front of the restaurant, which another customer confirmed belonged to the staff. This lack of professionalism reflects management’s leadership.
As a local resident, I was excited to support this new establishment, but this experience has convinced me not to return. I will be sharing my concerns with others in the community.
I hope you take this feedback seriously to improve customer service and professionalism in the restaurant.
I know this a franchise but I reported it the corporation office as well. We have to demand better in PG...
Read moreMe and my husband love Crafty Crab for years and we set Crafty Crab Woodbridge as our location. We started visiting Clinton location just couple days after they opened last year, today it was the fourth time visiting this location and we did decide to give them a review: Food: same quality as Woodbridge location. Atmosphere: little dark as Alexandria location but it’s nice. Service: Unfortunately for the fourth time they are still with the same lack of service. Staff try to be kind but They are not friendly at all. Apparently they are focused just on one specific racial group to be kind. But anyway back to my review on service the servers never give you all the Eating utensils, overalls or bibs with gloves are only provided once I ask for them. The tongs to cut the crab legs took 20 minutes after I asked for them. This time we ordered fried calamari and they never brought us a plate and cutlery to eat them, we had to use paper towels to place them. Shameful!
As the three previous times the waitress was always busy, without many tables to serve. They definitely have a lot to learn from the staff at the Woodbridge location. The manager and owner should consider training these employees to be more polite, friendly, less selective with customers, have a healthier appearance in their clothing and smell better after a bathroom would...
