I took my niece (a 13 year old honor roll student) so we could have lunch. This was our first time there and surely would be our last. First we were seated in the corner and others of a different race were spaced out throughout the restaurant (my niece pointed that out) after we realized we weren't getting equal or fair service. As we were waiting another Caucasian couple who were seated after we were there, our waitress briskly walked by our table and said, "I'll be with you" as she attentively tended to the couple. She came asked us about our drink choice then brought back that with the rolls. I asked for hot water for my silverware as I do at any and all restaurants when I choose to use the silverware instead of plastic ware. We waited, she served another Caucasian family of 7, we waited she went to everyone around us. So I took it upon myself to ask another young man on the staff if we could have hot water because now our dinner rolls were getting cold. He retrieved the water quickly with no problem although he had other tables as well. Our food came out and I must say it was well prepared and delicious. My niece had a sirloin with mash potatoes and a ceasars salad. I had the porterhouse with mash potatoes gravy and green beans. My niece wanted A1 sauce so she tried to get the waitress (a very thin blonde who also was making the alcoholic beverages) attention and she ignored her. My niece was upset about that and told me "dag she looked me right in my face and didn't acknowledge me!" At this point I was growing angrily š I got up and grabbed the A1 sauce off another table. In a business involving customer service no matter your preference it should never be displayed in the work place. She made it very obvious that she didn't care to service anyone of African American decent. As we watched her do 2 other sets of patrons the same way. Which one was also seated in the which appeared "blacks only" section and one sat themselves at the bar area. This was getting very uncomfortable for us so when she finally did come back to check on us without eating much of our food we asked for boxes and the check. This was a not so nice experience and we will never return. If this is the people you have representing your business I don't want any parts of that and can take my money elsewhere. Too bad because the food was very good and the greeters were...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHello, my job did a holiday get together at the Lutherville location on 12/16/22. We had a total of 4 tables and it was a party of 15. We all had separate checks. 5 of us ordered The Porch Rocker drink. The drink was horrible because it tasted flat and had a funny taste to it. We had an awesome waitress! We told her that we would like another drink because we were not satisfied with the drink. The nice waitress said ok no problem and put all 5 drinks on her tray and took them back to the bar. 5 mins later, the supervisor came over and said to everyone that she can't take the drinks back because of the "liquor law" that's in place. The supervisor said she can only take off for 2 drinks but not all 5. I said we are all doing separate checks. You can't make us pay for something we don't like. I said if we all ordered 5 steaks and they were prepared wrong you mean to tell me that we can't get another one? The supervisor said unfortunately there is no steak law and that we have to take the drinks back. Mind you, all 5 drinks are on the same tray (not from the same table) and she says you can pick up whatever drink is yours. I said how do you expect us to pick the same drink we had when we don't know which drink belongs to who? I said you do know we are still in a pandemic and that is not part of the safety guidelines. We told her that we are not paying for something that we don't like. 5 mins later, our nice waitress came back and said I am so sorry, I paid for the drinks so it does not be on your bill. She said I will just get yelled at. We told her that she did not have to do so but since she already did, we gave her a hefty tip for her wonderful professional service. I think the supervisor wasn't thinking when she said that we have to pick whatever drink is ours. That was ridiculous for her to say! Thumbs up to the waitress! Thumbs down for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to Texas Roadhouse on Friday, March 22 for the first time and my experience was very uncomfortable. The atmosphere was very chill and relaxed, and we were seated in the bar area. Kimberly was our server, and I asked if it was possible for us to move to another table, to which she said yes. However, we ended up with a different server. I said okay, and she moved us to the seat that we wanted in about a minute or two.
A gentleman approached from the side entrance and rudely said to us that if we wanted to move our seat, we should let them know before doing so. This caught me off guard because I didnāt expect such a response. At the same time, my boyfriend was on the phone handling some business. Kimberly, who goes by Kim, intervened and explained that we had asked to move.
The gentleman was very rude and condescending. My boyfriend, who was still on the call, didnāt know what was happening. Afterward, he came to our table and asked if we wanted to place an order. In that moment, I really wanted to leave, but I refused to let someone spoil my evening. He made a remark to my boyfriend, saying, āI see you donāt take her out much,ā which I found very rude and disrespectful. He tried to be funny, but I did not find anything humorous about the situation.
Overall, the food was great, but the unpleasant encounter with the staff member still bothers me. I donāt remember his name because I didnāt want to know it. I was just trying to keep my cool. I mentioned to him that we asked to be moved, and if I had known it was going to be a problem, I would have said something to the hostess. It was a very unpleasant experience, but I will give Texas Roadhouse another chance in the future. I hope that management addresses this issue to ensure all customers are treated with respect...
