I had some time to kill before going to the golf simulator across the street and needed to get some dinner, so I thought I would give this place a try. It was a Sunday evening, and the place was almost empty. The restaurant itself looked nice enough and was clean. The hostess greeted me right away and asked how many were in my party and what kind of table I would like. I was by myself and told her a booth would be fine. Then, for some unknown reason, she takes me all the way to the back of the restaurant to a booth directly next to the kitchen doors! Like I said, the place was practically empty!!! I looked over the menu and decided on the tacos. When asked how many tacos come in an order, I was told it was only one! Okay, so I ordered my beer, which came right away. Then, I ordered my appetizer and tacos. My appetizer was their " homemade caso and chips." I assure you, this stuff is far from homemade! It was a thick pastey cheese that was melted with a pile of very thick factory made chips. Doritos would have been better! The carnitas tacos, which was my dinner, came out at the same time as my appetizer. Clearly, someone doesn't understand the concept of an appetizer. The tacos were barely warm and did not have any type of sauce with them. I had to request a salsa for them. Overall, I'm not impressed with this restaurant . I don't see it lasting long if it can't handle a single patron efficiently with quality food on a slow night. But the restaurant looks good
update After my visit and review of the Naked Taco I was contacted by Becky Saka the marketing director who noticed my review. She requested that I contact her so she could learn more about my dining experience that evening. We spoke, and I explained the problems as I had seen them, and she seemed genuinely concerned and asked me to let her know when and if I were to visit the restaurant again. About a week or so later my wife and I decided to go to the promenade area and wanted to get some dinner, so I reached out to Becky and let her know we were stopping in for dinner around 6:30. Becky made reservations for us, and a table was waiting. We were greeted, right away by the hostess who seemed to expect us. Our waitress Franka came over very quickly and took our drink order and appetizer orders. She was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu items. Once our drinks and appetizers arrived, our entrees were taken and came out very quickly. Everything came out hot and tasted great. The manager, Tremaine stopped by our table a couple times to check on us to make sure everything was going well and that everything tasted fine. All in all, The Naked Taco went out of their way to make sure that not only their food, but their staff , service and reputation left a good taste in our mouths. This is how businesses should be run. Someone in the front office observes a potential issue, steps up, addresses it, and makes the effort to correct it. I appreciate the whole experience! Thanks again to the staff at...
Read moreDear Management,
I am writing to share feedback regarding my recent visit to your Coconut Creek location. Last night, I met three friends for Happy Hour and we were excited to enjoy Mexican food and cocktails. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing from start to finish.
Upon arrival, we noticed the restaurant’s AC was not functioning properly. An industrial fan at the entrance provided little relief, leaving the dining area dark, humid, and uncomfortable. The overall cleanliness was concerning as well — our wooden table was sticky, worn, and even prickly to the touch, creating the potential for injury.
Our server seemed unprepared to answer basic menu questions, such as whether the chicken tacos used white or dark meat or what brand of rum was in the mojito. Only when I insisted did she check for the answers. We also ordered waters right away, yet they did not arrive until well after our food was served — despite me having to go to the bar myself to ask. Even then, the bar staff failed to acknowledge me and were dismissive.
On a positive note, one young man who brought our food was polite and professional, and the trio of dips was enjoyable (though the queso tasted artificial). Unfortunately, the beef tacos — which could have been the highlight — were served at room temperature. The empanadas were fair at best and tasted as though they may have been made with canned chicken. Service was slow and inattentive; for example, we had to request additional chips twice before receiving them.
Finally, the restroom facilities were shockingly unclean. The conditions resembled those of a neglected roadside gas station, which was both unacceptable and concerning from a health standpoint.
Overall, between the broken AC, lack of cleanliness, poor service, and subpar food quality, this visit was extremely disappointing. I will not be returning, but I hope you take this feedback seriously and address these issues so future guests may have a...
Read moreI’ve never been to a restaurant where I had to clean the table myself because it was sticky after notifying my waiter.
My husband and I immediately noticed the table was sticky and had food residue, so we notified our waitress, Franca who shrugged 🤷🏻♀️, shook her head, and leaned her head to the side while saying it was the mist from the fans that caused the stickiness on our table…
She offered us some “wet naps” to clean it ourselves, and it went SOUTH from there 😌
We had already ordered drinks and some chips, so it was too late to bail..
And I kid you not, my husband and I witnessed two couples sit down on tables the staff did not even ATTEMPT to properly clean..there was food from the previous guests (a large party) still on that table when the couple you see in the video sat down (one you can see in the video) and my husband had to stop me from letting them know (didn’t want me to cause a scene).
Another couple had to ask the bus boy to clean their table and he used a wipe he had grabbed some food from another table with to lightly glide over the area the couple asked him to clean. So he only cleaned that one spot the couple pointed to meanwhile the entire table needed cleaning. “Selective pretend cleaning”
They don’t clean their tables in between guests. It’s not the mist from the outdoor fans. They’re pretty nonchalant about it so we didn’t want to risk eating from the kitchen because only God knows how risky that may be & we just didn’t want to find out.
This restaurant could be so much better.. A guest should NEVER HAVE to clean their own table.
I got a margarita-it barely had any alcohol, but since I’m not a drinker, I didn’t care
My husband got a Florida man beer (from the tap) and he could taste residue from other beers
We are NEVER coming back & I had the WORST stomach ache on the way home...
