This was the most sentimental restaurant experience I ever had!!!. So I have watched(and currently own a digital copy, so I do watch abroad the U.S. also) the movie Color Purple at least 3,500 times since it came out in the 80's, and this establishment does the Harpo's juke joint vibes plenty of Justice! I had a 4 hour early bird layover in ATL (2015), and the gate I was to board sat directly across from this lawd haf merci location! I didn't know it existed until I arrived with my snacks to endure my layover. My God! Upon walk-in I was greeted with the southern hospitality that I've only experienced in my visits through the ATL over 20+ years.... So breathtakingly warm, smooth, and genteel! And Ray Charles "Georgia" was blaring over the sound system, comforting any trauma I'd experienced in my previous 5 years of living in Savannah, GA. Also remember Tevin Campbell (my 90's crush-boo) Can we talk playing... Lordt! I was immediately seated, and served the grape flavored Kool aid (adult version, but I chugged it like Sophia did the lemonade Celie offered, lol)) which was glorious (hey, it's 5pm somewhere, lol)! I also had the fried chicken and waffles and heavenly creamy grits. Biscuits were banging! I truly felt like Celie herself prepared my meal like she did for Suge Avery. I am forever thankful beyond measure for the love and healing that happened for me in that Sweet Georgian experience... All on a crisp, Autumn Wednesday early bird layover, before 8am! My Lawd I thank yawl!

My husband and I visited this spot over the weekend, we were looking for a place that has a live band. This “Juke Joint” did not disappoint…EVERYTHING was good, food and band! I ordered the Juke joint fried chicken meal (came with collard greens and macaroni, I also got a side of mashed potatoes), everything was seasoned well and fully cooked. And yes the Mac and cheese was on point😋. Nothing was overly seasoned or under seasoned. Before our meal came out we ordered some alcoholic beverages (I had 2 “Sweet Georgia Peach” and my husband had 2 “Down South”). The alcohol ratio in both drinks were to our satisfaction, they definitely weren’t watered down. My husband ordered the “Jambalaya Pasta” (he said it was a bit spiced but he really enjoyed it…I tasted it and it was good to me). We both enjoyed the live band, the female singing was great, she really knows how to put on a show (she loves to interact with the crowd). They played old hits and some early 2000 hits. Our overall experience was fantastic…WE WILL DEFINITELY BE COMING BACK! Please visit this spot if you’re in the Atlanta downtown area.

First time here, so didn't know about phone ordering process...no one stopped at the table to help,.....and if your wondering the table was not clean....self seating, after figuring it out on my own, got the order completed. The sever showed up with my drink. It was an alcoholic beverage, i ordered a bottle of desani water. 10 minutes later she came by and ask "what's wrong?" I told her, and she brought out a cup of tap water....my food arrived...a while later she walked out of the kitchen area with a french fry in her had and proceeded to eat it, as she walked over to check on other oreders. After getting her attention, i asked her for a fork, that i wasn't given earlier....its been 45 minutes and still no fork. To top it off, the phone ordering system want you to pay a tip prior to receiving service....won't do that again Pic of my table from previous customer.

Pre covid I was a regular here and they were always a 4.5 or better. Post covid the service hasn't been as good as Pre covid. I've brought my family twice and lady over to Sweet GA over the last 6 months and if I could give a -5 (negative) stars, I would tonight. The 1st time I brought my sister and kids in 2022 I was triple charged due to there new ordering system was messed up and i was charged for the previous customers transactions as well as ours. 2nd time in Dec I brought my dad and my oldest. The food came out cold because it was sitting there waiting to be picked up. We had to send the food back to be heated up and it came back luke warm. Last night March 11, 2023, they were short staffed, the waitress was being over worked, and had only been there a week. We were seated, the table had not been wiped off, it was wet from the previous customers drinks. The "Q code" ordering system kept erroring out on my phone and my lady's phone. I had to get a manager involved because we weren't asked if we placed our order after sitting there for 30 minutes. The waitress brought my lady's drink to the table, not both drinks and no straws. We got the appetizers and food all at 1 time, handed plastic utensils and still no drink that I ordered. I called the manager to the table to ask why everyone else had regular utensils and we were given plastic, why weren't we given a glass of water and where was my sweet tea. 1 hour 30 minutes plus before we got our meal. There were 8 tables we counted that had issues and management had to get involved, no one was happy and we were discussing the horrible service amongst the tables grouped together. 90% of the tables were paying the waitress via credit card vs the app, FIX THE DANG APP OR GET RID OF IT. The band was AWESOME & they always are. I used to love going there and taking friends, but I doubt that I will be going there anytime soon and my lady's 1st time there, she refuses to go back. Sweet GA, fix your...

On Monday March 25th, I left my phone at the Juke Joint at the airport location. I called to ask and see if they could hold it for me, and one of the employees (I unfortunately don’t remember her name) said they would keep it for me.

I kept tracking the location of my phone for a few days and it always tacked it back to the restaurant so I figured they kept it for me as they mentioned they would. The problem is I’ve been trying to call repeatedly to ask them about it, and they are not being helpful at all. The manager either seems annoyed by my request for information, and is telling me no one knows anything (at this point a can’t track my phone anymore because the battery is dead).

At this point either one of the employees stole my phone or no one is giving me the information I'm requesting and I’m being lied to or blown off, and that is not cool.

My first impression was a nice one, I saw how they kept my phone for a few days, but for some reason every time I’ve tried to call after that first interaction no one is willing to help. After a week of this feeling of being lied to, I hope you can understand my frustration.

I would love to get information with someone in a position of authority and customer service so this can be dealt...
